    Hood Latch Sensor

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am trying to find a hood latch sensor to fix my alarm issue, it looks like the original sensor was broken off the core support at one point and is nowhere to be found.

If you have one that doesn't have any issues, I'd like to buy it asap. Here is the code:

01369 - Alarm triggered by Hood Switch
    35-00 - -

Edit: It looks like I might need to replace the entire latch assembly with one that has a sensor, I will also need the wiring loom for the latch as well.

You're the man, thanks for the part number. If I can't find anyone who has one on here (also need the wiring harness for it), I guess new is what I'll be doing.

the two that go to the sensor. most likely brown and brown/black basically when the hood is closed it make the connection between the two wires. when the hoods open the circuit is broken which doesnt allow the alarm to arm itself. you will here the horn beep after locking the doors which means you successfully bypassed the hood sensor. if you dont want to keep the hood sensor i have one from a 2.8.

The issue is the only thing that remains on the car is the plug where the sensor and wiring harness connect. The sensor and wiring are completely missing.

youre going to have to do some digging in the engine bay and try to locate the wires. they come out of the firewall near the power steering rack. remove the drivers front wheel and fender lining. then remove the plastic cover that the tie rod comes out of. behind there you will find a few wires coming through the firewall. check to see if they are still there. they usually run under the abs system down the drivers side frame rail. then up to the rad support.

It's this part that I'm missing, the connector that plugs into is still there under the cover next to the power steering reservoir.

yeah that might be it. try taking a piece of wire and stick it into the end of the clip so it makes a loop. then try locking your car

Does the broken sensor trigger your alarm every now and then?

I'm wondering if that's the reason why it's causing my car too.

Should create your own thread RicoS4, but use a Vagcom cable and it'll tell you exactly what's triggering your alarm.
