This morning. This happened. Sun was ridiculously bright, turned right, into the sun's direction, lady hit her brakes and I could not see a damn thing till last second when I saw the shadow of her car, swerved left to try and avoid her. Bam.

After the cops finished what they have to do, I pulled into a Lowe's parking lot to get off the street. Rubbing majorly when turning the wheel left or right. Don't even want to know what the cost of repair is.

Both parties were okay, but you're right on that, our health is more important.

It was ridiculous man, I don't think there is frame damage though which is a good thing.

Sorry to see that. The repairs will not be a big deal at all. Just use a good shop and no worries. Good luck!

Glad you are OK. Cars can be fixed, people can't be replaced. Main thing is you're safe.

Now, I would be looking into an RS5 front end and E-codes, since you have to replace everything from the fentder/hood/bumper cover/foglight/headlight etc.

If you do the labor yourself, you may be able to almost break even... given what shop you go with, where you order the parts, how much your insurance gives you, selling your undamaged parts (grill, drivers headlight/foglight, etc.) Just saying, might as well make the move now. I would even if I had to come out of pocket a little and do the work myself.

Hopefully there is no frame damage and doesn't require any frame tweaking.

Is it bad that I almost wish someone would gently rear end me so I can get the S-line bumper and go to a quad exit exhaust without having to pay full price?

Good to hear you are okay, as many have said, its just a car and is repairable.

On the other note, this seems to be the second accident reported by a forum member within a 2 week time span. Be careful out there guys!

Thanks all for wishing me safe. I appreciate that. What do you mean what the "Insurance will give me"? I would love to get ecodes and and look into an RS bumper, but I didn't think it was a choice up to me. This is my first ever accident, so I am not familiar with the process honestly. I am fairly young and figured that I just drop it off at a credible body shop and make a claim, and wallah...they look at the car and fix the repairs (having full coverage of course).

I hope frame isn't bent as well but i don't think it is (praying) lol

    - Adjuster will check the car.. give you a quote for damages

At that point you can have a Body Shop fix it and get a check directly from the ins or you can have the insurance get you a check personally and you fix the car on your own...

If you choose the body shop route you can also suggest to them specific parts you would like to order elsewhere with the money the insurance has provided

I dropped the car off directly at the body shop after the accident and is sitting there. I've already called my insurance company and made a claim for the accident. I'm guessing they send someone out like you said, to get the estimate in damages? Bc if there isn't much price gap difference, I will ask for a rs5 bumper if I'm aloud.

you can get whatever you want as long as it cost less than OEM Audi Part .. some insurance companies will be funny and try to buy used parts.. more than likely all the upgrade parts you want are cheaper than the OEM Part

I don't think you can get an OEM Rs5 bumper unless you change the fenders also....

Wouldn't the RS front fenders look out of place without the RS rear fenders?

    How young are you?

You already need one fender, so you would have to buy the other as well.

Sounds like you just want the car back and fixed, so this may be a bridge too far. I'm sure it will be good as new in no time.

I am good friends with the guy at the body shop so I will talk to him some more tomorrow as you guys just told me about this. Never been down this path. usually he fixes things under the table for me so they don't show on car history report but this one is clearly unavoidable. I am 23 years old.

Here is my experience, and I have plenty of it…. my shop is certified by my insurance company. That means they act as their own adjusters, so everything happens fast and smooth. As for parts, insurance goes oem only if the vehicle is no more than 2 years old. As far as upgrades, my shop has always allowed me to do so. Take my S5 lid for example. When my 5 was in an accident, they were fine to say give me the $850 allotment for the A5 lid, and let me pay the extra $350 to upgrade to the S5 lid. My shop even coved the damaged $700 BBS CH-R wheel when the mk7 was in an accident, no questions asked. So if you want ecodes, RS parts etc, just let the shop know. Hell, Valeo ecodes cost less than oem US spec lamps, and they should not balk at letting you pay the difference for say an RS front.

Thanks guys for explaining, I am going to speak with my friend at the body shop. Since the car is already there (at the body shop sitting), I was going to have him write out his estimate for what is needed for State Farm, but to put a hold on ordering the parts after they cut him the check for it so we can look over some upgrades on what I prefer. I'll see what he says about that idea, but I don't see what the problem would be considering they are getting paid labor anyways and it's still going to be the same work (putting on a bumper, etc)

I feel sure they will not have any issues with it. All the same to them. Sometimes they'll add a bit here and there to help… if that makes sense ;) They all do it.
