    Resonated down pipes

    Hello everyone,

I was planning on installing the Awe Touring Exhaust system with the resonated DP's, I have been informed that if I install the resonated DP's and not keep my stock DP's installed I will have problems later on with passing smog checks because the exhaust will be out of compliance.
Has anyone run into this problem of not passing smog checks due to the resonated DP's?
I know that I can install the resonated down pipes now and then when I have to smog the car I would just re-install the stock down pipes for the test and then re-install the resonated DP's I rather not do this if at all possible.

Thanks for any help you can give me with this problem.

Not true. The downpipes come after the emissions stuff and have no bearing on passing smog.

No, those are just resonators. Cats are tucked up much higher in the engine. Downpipes bolt to the backside of them.
