Stop playing parts darts, its expensive and rarely works.

All those codes point to a vacuum or boost leak. Its ALWAYS a vac/boost leak. What is your peak boost pressure? Vacuum reading at idle?

If you can find a shop that has a smoke tester then you can narrow down to maybe exactly where/if your vacuum leak may be. Ask them if they'll do it for free. Doesn't hurt. You've already spent money on a MAF, 02 sensor and intercooler. See if you can bring an attitude back to the shop that diag'd it. Maybe they will be willing to find that leak for you for free since they obviously haven't fixed the problem. The tech that originally looked at it seemd incompetant from what you have described. Did they even scan your car with VCDS?

He scanned it with his snap on tool, strange thing is I didn't get these codes (17544,17705 and 16683) until after the intercooler was changed. At this point I don't think i'll take it back to this shop. Was just hoping someone in the NYC area had a good indy shop I could go to.

I agree with Tex. All your symptoms indicate a vacuum/boost leak. Get it smoke tested and you will probably find your problem.

My car had the first two codes when i bought it, replaced PCV-valve, problem solved. My advice is to check the PCV-valve, it's really cheap and easy to replace. If it hasn't been replaced before, i advise you to just replace it anyway when you have the old one out, because their plastic cracks and they fail eventually (I've replaced several of them at work too on customer cars with 1.8t engines).

I was planning on changing the PCV Valve have one I purchased and never installed. Update found that the tube from the intercooler to the manifold was loose and there was a really small hose that was off (connected to manifold witch was sucking in air) it had the one time use clamp still connected to the end. Put everything back together hope no codes come back i'll drive it around tomorrow.

If it was a cheap knockoff, then yes it could have failed that quickly. With these cars the rule of thumb is "buy nice or buy twice". Its always better to go OEM.

You will keep getting various codes until you fix all the leaks. If you have access to an air compressor, you can DIY.

Dont give up, you have a simple problem that can be fixed in an afternoon!
