New Audi S5 Owner...Few Questions maybe you can help with?

Hey guys! Just bought a 2013 Audi S5. Glacier White, Magma interior.

Absolutely love the car so far. I bought the car with 13,900 miles on it. When looking at the Carfax, there was nothing on the car except for that original buyer had went in for the 5,000 mile Audi inspection 4 months after he purchased the car. After that, there is no records at all. Which means in 1 1/2 years after that inspection, he only put 8100 miles which seems "suspicious". The car also has some wear on steering wheel which seems abnormal for only 13,900....

My question is, on way to work this morning, I hit 15,000 miles. From my understanding a light was suppose to come on saying I needed to take it in for 15,000 mile service interval? Is that correct?

I also noticed that when driving the headlights seem low, its hard to see driving at night. Highbeams work great. This is my first car with HID lights. Is this normal?

It's possible that work was done that was not entered into the database. Wouldn't be the first time, and I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that foul play is involved.

I never see the service lights since I always go in early, so I don't actually know what happens. In any case, logging a service in the MMI is somewhat easy and wouldn't require a dealer. If he changed his own oil, say, he could've done it himself.

    welcome

as suggested, service could of been performed at an independent shop or DIY. does the car have audi care? if not, its likley he did it himself.

as for HID, it depends how low. the left beam is usually lower than the right to avoid blinding oncoming drivers.

Thanks for your help, I wasn't sure. I thought it was a standard thing that at 15,000 the light came on. The only way to remove would be to go to dealer or use VCDS. Still learning...

I see you are from Philly. Is there any local Audi meets? I grew up in NE Philly, just bought a house out in Limerick few years ago...

I haven't had a chance to play around with the car that much. The snow and ice has been ridiculous here since I bought the car 2 weeks ago.

I changed the front grille to RS5 and put wheels on it already lol...

Car did not have Audi Care. I plan on doing all the maintenance myself.

There are a few different meets in the area that are pretty good. Some Audi/Audizine specific although I've never gone.

The Cars & Coffees are good (Lehigh Valley is more active than Philly), as is the AWE annual BBQ in August or September and the FabSpeed Cars & Coffee in September or October.

on the 13's, a message will come up when you either approach the 1 year anniversary of the previous service date (which would have been the date the 5K service was performed), or (and this I am only assuming) once approaching 10K miles since the last service was performed ... whichever occurs first. Based on the ops comments, I'd tend to believe the svc message came up and was cleared, and won't come up until either the next yearly anniversary or the next 10K miles pass. I'm guessing op checked and found nothing stamped in the owners maintenance manual indicating date/mileage when the 2nd service was performed.

    Thanks guys for help!

I got the 20" Rohanna RC10 in Matte black. They look great super happy with them! Waiting for this awful snow/sleet/ice to go away to take some good pic's!!

I'm going to tune and do the exhaust next.
