Any EPL Stage 2 1/4 mile times yet?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just wondering if there are any independent 1/4 mile times yet with EPL stage 2. It's alot cheaper than the others. A pulley is just a pulley so if it's the same diameter as others it will make the same boost and EPL supposed to be a good Porsche tuner. Wonder what it runs.

I believe boseephuss has their Stage 2 tune but has to install it. Interested in the results as well.

I should be getting my parts in the mail this week, and looking to install the first week of March. I know Saxon had the tune, but not sure if he ever did any 1/4 runs with the EPL flash. I know he has posted his APR 104 times, but don't recall EPL specific runs other than dyno.

Saxon showed dyno runs on EPL and APR to be very similar for 93 but didn't compare race tunes nor did I see any 1/4 numbers. I'm tempted to order it. Do some runs stock, swap the pulley, and upload tune at track and do more runs. Then do 104 octane runs. I rent the track so I would have time to do it. But I want to see some numbers before I put in that much effort.

Now, years later, EPL is the gold standard tune for that market and is single handedly responsible for cutting the price for tuning in half in that market (which is why, I assume, the other tuners had their minions come out in force to troll every thread). It's the natural evolution of things. Vehement opposition followed by everyone accepting as fact... just give it a few months.

Comparable to APR no? Does EPL have a race gas file?

Tune only EPL ran 12.5 @ 110 (best of 11 for the day)

Honestly dude there is only so much anyone can do with a smaller pulley and ECU tune so I would expect all tunes to be relatively close in terms of performance.

Epl tune is capable of low 12's but I found it to not be as consistent as apr. If he fixed the bugs in my tune and had a dsg flash ( he mentions on Facebook that he does ) I could see it comparing with apr And giac

Tony unfortunately could never get my car to not bleed boost though

Im glad EPL exists, in my experience they come in once the market is more mature and spice it up. Accusations of 'stealing' tunes always float around between companies, but in reality, after the first firm creates an aftermarket flash, why wouldn't any subsequent developer at least start with those maps and go from there. Shit, you can't rediscover the wheel, and often the gains still left on the table are pretty minor or clever tweaks. EPL is always a pleasant evolution to the existing tuning market.

you also see the proper use of a trap speed in the above guys quote, to whatever heckler that was that attacked me for only caring about 1/4 miles just bc i referenced a trap. this place is a joke.

Do they have a race file?

Correct. Only b8. Would think that the b8.5 will be done in a month or so. Along with the dsg tune. EPLabs is devoting this whole first quarter of the year to the S4 B8/8.5 platform.

I've had my epl flash flash for about 25k miles and have had no issues. I did their pulley upgrade about 10k miles ago and it's been awesome. I've never been to a track yet but I did have my car dyno ed a few weeks ago and I was impressed with the #'s. I could post the dyno sheet although I don't have baseline #s

I have the car in the shop for installation now. I was able to get in on the Alpha cooling system group buy, and waited so that I could kill two birds with one stone. I am pretty sure I won't get it in time for the event this weekend (which looks like it'll likely get rained out anyway) but hope to get some details and times, though I doubt it'll be soon. I will at the minimum post my impressions.

In for impressions!!! I'm loving mine!!! But my buddy just had his flashed. No increase in speed, boost, nothing. Not looking to be the tune though. Think he is having a boost leak, supercharger issue. Sucks. Here is a thread I started all about it:
