What to do with parking brake when upgrading to 300mm rear rotor

Just wondering what most people do with their parking brake cables when doing the 034 rear bbk? It says to disengage the plastic piece holding the line in place and slide the line 2" through. I was thinking I could maybe use the paper template that ecs has for their rear big brake kit. But their rotors are 306mm. Does anyone know if this would work?

I don't recall needing to mess with that bracket at all on my 034 version of this kit.

I used the ECS template with my 034 kit. I was rebuilding the calipers at the time so no biggie and I just hate messing with those plastic cable retainers. You either can't move them or they shatter.

Awesome, that is what I wanted to hear! I just wanted to make sure that the little 6mm difference in size wouldn't make a difference using the template because I don't feel like dicking around with those plastic cable retainers.

I'm in the same boat right now. That plastic sleeve ain't moving so I guess I'll just drill the bracket...

    I did this last week.

I am using the ECS rear kit and didn't want to jack up my plastic holders. I drilled new holes on the bracket and the cable was still tighter than shit and I had a hard time getting the caliper line up. I then broke off the two plastic retainers on the back side of the holder(towards the rear of the car) to slide the cables back further and everything fit like a dream after that.

I didn't take pictures but if I were to do it again I wouldn't even bother drilling new holes. I was replacing the lines at the same time so it really was not a big deal to pull the calipers off.

So how did you get the plastic sleeve to release? Is it gone completely now? I know you said you broke yours but any tips for getting it off without breaking it or at least breaking it as little as possible?

I didn't smash it. Follow the guide sleeve to the rear where it comes out of the control arm at the rear and you will see two expanding plastic clips which prevent the guide from moving to the rear of the car. Just pry those two clips out until they snap off (the remainder of the guide sleeve stays intact) and the whole sleeve and cable will move an inch or so towards the rear allowing the caliper to bolt up. I'll try to go take a picture.
