Truphone issue

Hey Guys,

Had been using Ptel but switched to Truphone. Got my SIM activated, made sure I was in an area with great Tmobile 3G, inserted the card, put the APN in as 'truphone.com' unfortunately I'm getting no data despite excellent 3G signal. Whenever I try to use an online destination or use Audiconnect I get a "data connection could not be established" error. I have removed an reinserted the SIM and reset the MMI to no avail.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine did the same thing, I waited the next day and had the sim card out for the night and it worked. Try a lower case truephone.com also, it will work eventually

Unfortunately no dice today...anyone have any ideas? Should I contact truphone?

I was having the same issue being unable to establish a connection. Followed the suggestion offered by "B8 S4" above and every thing is working now. Typed "truphone.com" for the APN, the "username" and "password" from my truphone online account and bingo.

I am having the same problem as the original poster. I have used truphone for about 18 months with no problem. I'm getting no data despite excellent 3G signal. I had the same problem after using all the pre-purchased data from truphone.
Have you checked your account online?

There was a problem with my account online, for some reason it did not auto renew... Additionally, it seems the my audi accounts have changed. I needed to create a new account but had to deactivate the old account first. apparently there is a new site from when I purchased my car. so anyone that registered before March of 2014 can create a new account. It took a week to figure all this out but it is all set up now ( again). Also, I downloaded the app which allows you to send addresses from the map to the car from an iphone. works well!

Just curious why did you switch from ptel to Truphone? I am looking into the most cost effective Pre-Paid SIM's for Audi Connect and thought from the reviews so far Ptel was the way to go. But if truphone is now better I'll try them. Or is it just personal preference?

I was using RedPocket and paying 5.00/month for 500 MB until they dropped their T-mobile service and went to ATT. Unfortunately, it only give me 2g connectivity on my 2013.

What are you guys paying for Ptel/Truphone a month?
