Sq5 H&R springs 29001-3

Anyone using these, without issues?

This has been beaten to death on here and AW, North American SQ5s with the 3.0TFSI need to use the -1 H&R springs. The -3 springs are designed for the Euro SQ5 with the heavier 3.0TDI. They will make your car look like it sags in the rear.

I'm using that spring part number (-3) without issues. Pics below with these installed after approx of 1 week of installation.

How's the ride compared to stock? Softer? Stiffer?

Methinks I'll just go with the KW HAS... Worth it in the long run in case I decide to slam her... 1.5" to start... Euro spec.

Maybe 2.5 a couple years later. :)

Although JEsse - your's look totally Euro height.

ride is great on the -3 but -1 is what you want.. my -3 is higher in the front and lower in the rear.. it looks kinda weird

I'd like to get to the bottom of this as well.

Why do the -3 H&R springs work well or JesseRohr's SQ and not others?

Don't know. JEsse's SQ is PERFECT looking, but I ordered the -1's to be safe. I KNOW they'll work, so I went for it. Pics to follow if my damn SQ ever arrives from port.

I actually like it level...and the stock US. SQ5 is raked aboit 1/2"

Jesse, did your SQ drop more than the specified 1"/0.8" for the -3 H&R springs? Looks good to me.

Did you buy them recently? I ask because I wonder if H&R may have made changes to the -3 springs and addressed initial issues for the SQ.

I'm still undecided re: -1 or -3...

Anybody having any tire wears issues yet with the -1 springs?

Wait two weeks and I'll post pics and impressions of my SQ with -1 springs. I figured go with what works. Why chance the -3? As for tire wear... it may be a tad longer than two weeks. :)

I also went with the -1 if you go in to H&R Germany site -3 is for TDi only. And since they are Lowered already it only drops it the .8 US models are like a JEEP . if you want a decent drop that looks good go with the -1

I think that looks higher than euro spec, I don't remember mine ever sitting that high

Funny thing...After reading this thread this morning and realizing I ordered my H&Rs from Tire Rack about 9 months ago, I was curious which model # I got. Granted I thought the drop on mine was perfect. Here's the Tire Rack that says 29001-3: http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/s...al+Valve+Stems

HOWEVER, I went in and looked at the box and they came in a "29001-1" box! Strange!

I have 12000 miles on my OE 21s and no abnormal tire wear with the -1s.

Granted, my OEM Michelin 20's are of a different compound, but I've got 21,300 miles on them since installing the springs. Three tire rotations, zero problems. The camber is indeed out of spec, but obviously it's not a huge concern. It's been said a hundred times (or more), but if you're going lower....i.e. KW HAS....spend the dough for adjustable upper control arms at the same time. They'll pay for themselves over time.

The Tirerack tech I ordered from said "it sounded like I had more direct application info than they did", so he had no problem sending me the -1's.

However, the more assurance I can get, the better.

Now I wait for my SQ like its a Red Ryder BB Gun... And I'm driving my A7 in the interim. Can't friggin wait!!!

Don't know if you saw The photos on Audiworld of the guy named Russ who used H&R 29001-3 springs on his SQ5 and it dropped front and rear exactly 2". It looks awesome!
