    Video: AWE/GIAC Stage II C6.5 A6 3.0T

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello, for anyone that has been following my previous thread, C6.5 A6 Transformation Pictures... oh, and, GIAC Stage II on the way!, you will know I recently installed the AWE-Tuning pulley and GIAC Stage II flashed at AWE-Tuning. I posted in that thread a video recorded while holding my cellphone:
    https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...73208730055958

Well here is a slightly more professional video, recorded from my GoPro, along with calculated/estimated 0-60 and 1/4 mile times (screenshots) using the VCDS Acceleration Measurement tool (still need to get her to the track once they start opening to get some real times):

The car, as far as power modifications goes, has an AWE-Tuning pulley, GIAC Stage II tune, and a USP Motorsports cold air intake... the exhaust is stock.

Does anyone by chance know which measuring block is used to see how much boost you're making? Several of them have pressure in them but I don't know if it's actual or requested. I did, however, using the OBDII function and logging the 'Boost Press Ctrl A/B', verified as much as high-13psi in 1st, mid-14psi in 2nd, and low-15psi in 3rd. I'm ASSUMING this was how much boost I was making (after converting from kPa to PSI and subtracting 14.696) versus another measurement.

    Enjoy!

As fun as that would be... this file already comes with a 'Race Gas' tune which is more than enough being that this is my daily. But if you get it post videos!

Yeah, hopefully... not sure if I'll run it on the pump tune (on 93) or the race file (on 100+) though.

Upon opening VAG-COM, click on OBD-II, click on Mode 1 for Read Data, on one of the four drop downs choose Vehicle Speed, then click on the newly appeared button Acceleration.

Is there a link with info on this software / Pulley? For the life of me, I can't get anything from GIAC's site, and am curious about this, versus the APR Setup. I am NOT a huge fan of APR since going to a Private Equity group. They have dropped support, failed to respond, and are starting poor business practices with their long term channel partners, and I just don't trust them in their current state.

Despite this, with the lack of support from Unitronic for our cars, there really aren't many other options for me to consider locally.

I'm able to track and log engine parameters by using this OBD-II reader
    http://www.amazon.com/Version-Blueto...ywords=elm+327

They have a bunch of different versions that work with both iphones and androids. I have a tablet paired with the torque app and I really like it. You might run into the same issue though, as I'm not sure if the boost readouts are actual or requested...

Something I've been trying to figure out, but nobody seems to know... What sort of gains might one expect? I've got GIAC Stage 1 already with the flash loader. I'm trying to decide if the pulley upgrade is worth it, or if I've already gotten the most bang for my buck. It seems like the limitations on the C6 A6 hold back the gains of the pulley compared to what you get in the B8 S4... So it's a tough decision. $500-1000 (or whatever) for what looks like pretty modest 5-10% gains, if I read the charts right.

The upgraded pulley really makes up for what the Stage 1 tune lacks, which is the low end torque. $550 for pulley, $150 install for maybe an extra 20hp? I feel its a very noticeable upgrade and a no-brainer to me when that's about all you can do to a C6 at this point.

Yep. While stage 1 produces the majority of the "peak" gains, stage 2 really fills in the powerband (and does add to peak power).

Just doing stage 1 is a better bang for your buck, but I certainly recommend the pulley upgrade.

Just got the GIAC Stage II done two days ago. It's definitely worth it. I'll post another more detailed review of it shortly.
