    Audi A6 Delayed Shifting

I am brand new to these forums, I initially came here to get a second opinion. As of a few weeks ago I had noticed a severe delayed upshift getting into first and second gear. It almost gets up to 6000 RPM's before it decides to shift into gear. Yet after second gear the shifting is just as normal as it was before. I have also noticed that within the dash display, where switching from the automatic transmission to the slap shift, it does not switch from the automatic display to the slap shift manual gear display. I was wondering what insight you guys could give me. I went to a transmission shop, they looked at it at told me the problem was a "spring" if i remember correctly within the transmission and that it was going to be in upwards of $3,000 to repair.

    Thanks for all the help

Need to find more information about what is going on with the car.
Do you have a check engine light?

Even if you don't have a check engine light, you need to get your hands on Vagcom / VCDS software, a cable and scan the vehicle for trouble codes. Save the codes as a log file and post the log file here and someone should be able to help you hone in on your issue.

I have a spare automatic transmission with 88K miles out of an 02 Allroad that I no longer need because I did a manual swap. I will sell for a reasonable price. Let me know if you need it.
