Question EPC light on cold weather start

Hello and good day all. Started the S4 this morning and the EPC light popped up along with the revs hovering around 1200 rpms or so. When the car goes into gear the RPMS start fluctuating, sounding as if the car had a serious, upraded cam.

The conditions that were not normal was the ambient temperature. The temperature outside was around 2 degrees F in NYC this morning and that's without the windchill factor. I've only had my roc-euro installed for about a few days now and when the car initially started i heard a high pitch shrill sound instantly that went away after about 10 to 15 seconds. The last cold start was about a week ago but i had the APR carbonio still installed and there was no issue. On that day the temperature was about 4 degrees F.

I checked over all my intake connections such as coupler clamps, air filter clamp and everything was nice, tight and sealed.

I shut the car off and let it sit for like 15 seconds then restarted again and everything was normal. At this time there was no EPC light, the car idled normally and drove as if nothing ever happened.

I did a quick browse for cold starts and EPC lights and came up with some hits. It seems as though some other members had issues with the winter weather and cold start issues. I'm just worried because all winter not one hiccup and today, coincidently, only after a few days with the roc-euro this problem appears. Not trying to blame the intake because maybe it was a one time glitch?

Thank you for your time and I appreciate your input.

If you're tuned, did you get the revised v2.3 file from APR that fixes this issue? Intake was likely just a coincidence. There are a few threads regarding cold start EPC issues with APR tune and they have since released that updated file.

Didn't know there was a v2.3 file a I believe my car is on the v2.0 file. My apologies for bringing up an issue that's been discussed in a previous thread. I searched and my hits didnt show anything indicating a revised tune. Thank you JL
