4.0T magnaflow exhaust video request someone!?

I think the magnaflow doesn't get enough love 'round these parts. While not being as high quality, its a third of the price of the other solutions.

There's a video on youtube of an S6 going WOT but other than that I haven't seen anything else. Could someone do a drive by cruise video or some in-car videos?

$1300 according to a Google search. Magnaflow is a reputable company. If I could find someone local who has it to hear how it sounds I'd consider it. Many here are against it basically because it's (a) relatively inexpensive; and (b) comes from a company known to make products for the domestic market and therefore somehow cheap, but in the grand scheme of things, we're talking about an exhaust, not a flux capacitor. Perhaps ECS can give us some feedback since they apparently carry it as well.

@ $1300 - assuming it has all the parts needed (which magnaflow is known to not have always in the box) - i may just buy it for the LULZ factor and see how it goes.

If you do, I'd love to hear how it sounds. I don't know much about Magnaflow other than they've been in the exhaust business for 30-odd years.

Brooklyn summed it up well. MF is good enough for Chip Foose. Even if it droned in cylinder deactiviation, doubt it would impact these cars as they are too well insulated.

If you're just looking for better sound and the +10HP, then give 'er a go. If you're trying to get into the low 10 second 1/4 mile then you'd want catless downpipes, non resonated, perhaps bigger diameter pipes. YMMV.

Now that's a different story. Drone, no matter the cost, is a no-go for me.

They are also working on a 3.0T A7 system. They are local to me so I plan to pick it up as soon as its ready. I saw the early test version on Rotiform's A7 and the fit/finish was excellent. Have yet to hear it.

Let me get this straight, it's only available for the S6, or it will fit a S7 as well but if it drones then I'm not interested as well.

No idea on the drone as it doesn't appear anyone on the forums actually has one. Thought I'd read somewhere that there was a guy here with one but haven't seen him post. Theoretically should fit the A7 as the AWE tuning exhaust for the A7 fits the A6 (albeit with enough drone that AWE eventually developed an A6 specific exhaust), but again, not clear from the scant literature to be found.

The video I watched sounded kind of raspy, similar to the suitcase resonator delete. I would be interested to hear a firsthand review and a better sound clip than a cellphone video. If MF was smart, they would do a pro vid with pro sound and post it on the forums.

i've gone magnaflow route before. It depends on how much you chop off in the car. Although i've never bought an entire system from them.

my goal is for a throaty Mustang GT stock sound, vs the farting pig sound right now.


but i still don't want to hear it in the cabin, only when the windows are down.

Let us know if you find the right combo, I think a few people are looking for a tad more sound and no drone (and at least in my case) want to keep the exhaust flaps actuators in the final mufflers functional.
