What might my 2005 A4 Avant Ultrasport be woirth?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I hope this is an appropriate place for this.

I am about to buy a new car and want to find out what to ask for my 2005 A4 Avant Ultrasport. It has 85K miles, several small dings, bumper rash, wheel rash and the spoiler has lost its clear coat. Very good condition other than that and mechanically excellent always dealer maintained. A straight car. 50% tire wear left on Michelins. Dolphin gray, black leather. 1.8 T, XM Radio, Bose, 6 speed manual.

What do you think I should ask?

KBB shows about $8,200 in my condition. But I see ads from 11-15K. So thought it worthwhile to check.

    Thanks.

I would say try for $10,500. Def worth all of 10 grand with low mileage and routine maintenance at dealer. Plus its USP, manual and avant. You'll get a lot of interest from enthusiasts. Could try listing higher and see if the right buyer is out there.

This thing is going to be worth quite a bit to the right crowd. The cosmetic issue are going to hurt you a bit, but still, USP 6MT Avants are pretty rare and quite desirable
Pictures would help, even for this thread just asking us what its worth. Has the timing belt/water pump been done? Do you have all the maintenance records?

I would post up in the Avants-Only Classifieds thread as a feeler; probably one of your best markets right here...

Has the Timing belt been done yet? What other maintenance has been completed?

Also not sure what Ads you have seen but they go for $7,000~$9,000 and some even find them cheaper unless you are referring to dealer adds and well no one pays that lol. I doubt you will see anything over $9,500 and that's if you take care of the paint issues and TB (if you haven't done it already).

Thanks folks. Will take pictures tomorrow. Timing belt and water pump done at 75 K. All records. I have no plans to fix dents or paint.

Prices were place like here by Googling 2005 A4 Avant Ultrasport for sale. and why I am checking. I want a fair price, that's all.

BTW, in Silicon Valley if anyone close is interested and wants to see or chat. I need to get ducks in a row as I need to order my next car as not on any lot close with options I want.

    Thanks.

I would guess 7-10. I bought my 05 USP Avant 3 yrs ago for 11 (CAN). Lease, then CPO, then me 1yr later, all records from day 1. I was going to post locally for 9K with new summers on USP wheels, new winters on 18" A6 wheels, TB complete service done <10k ago (2nd time) and everything else up to date, stg 1. It's a Tip though. No real cosmetic issues outside of a 10yr old year round driven car, no "dents" but you have a Cali car which works in your favor. But I have rear heated seats If you aren't in a rush you can probably get what you want for it, just need to wait for the right buyer to be looking.

Seriously though. 6mt USP avant? Sign me up.

I would aim for more like $11k assuming clean title, exterior is in good shape, etc.

Interesting. No comments since I posted pics. Does this help put a price?

Al pics shot yesterday. Dents are hard to see in the close-ups, but there. Paint shines. They are good pictures :)

I think it is in pretty good shape, Bob. Some paint defects, but still in good/very good shape otherwise. I would say list at $10,500 to see what you pull for interest. If it has not sold in 2 months time, I will buy it.

Interesting. I am told the car I want to order has an 8 week lead time :) Maybe we should chat?

I have someone coming to look tomorrow. Let's see what they think . They do not know the car, just looking for a stick wagon.

I like it. Non-USPs have less aerodynamic drag. Am I willing to pay a premium for that? - some bumpers and shift knob? No. Not that I wouldn't make a good offer. But maybe some need that. I think $6-$11k. Based on supply and demand. 04 and 05 B6s in MT had the same 02X. So if there's a bunch of similar option cars at better prices for sale nearby whether it be local city, state, region, etc, it may be more difficult. Odds are, prospective buyer is aware of market options. The car seems to have a cult-following among enthusiasts (call me one of them), but it seems like the general car-buying public couldn't be less interested. Not sure why. I'm interested, and sent you a PM. Feel free to keep in touch.

For non Audi enthusiasts, a tip is worth ~$500 more on average than a manual trans equipped car. Keep this in mind, depending on the buyers interested in your Avant, how they learn of the A4 for sale, enthusiast or not. Non enthusiast won't be impressed by the USP.

I would pay no more than $8,000 cash in its condition. If it was closer I would pay cash today.

Oh I would do it but it would cost me about $3,000 just to take 3 days off from work plus flight and gas.

There are so many near me for sale that it's not worth tacking that onto the purchase price.

I have it posted in the Avant classifieds. Not replies or interest. Thought I'd let all know that it is for sale and I can be reached by PM's if interested.

    Thanks.

Nice looking car, if I was closer I'd buy it, I have a grey USP sedan with Tip, always wished it was a manual avant! good luck with the sale.

If you still have it in 3 weeks I'll give you a call. I'm headed to the UK next week so I'm not in a position to look at the car seriously.

    Car is beautiful though IMO.
