Random throttle cut out...wtf??

This issue started out a few weeks ago. The first time, I was merging onto the highway (normally) from a stoplight on an inclined entry ramp. Once into 3rd, the throttle died instantly. ...as I'm lead dog. Let off the pedal...reapply pressure...and we're back in bidness. Didn't happen again until over a week later. This time, didn't come right back. Looking behind me to get over, I noticed the center window brake light was on...like I had my foot on the brake. Tap the brake pedal, light goes out, we're good again. It's now happened 3 times today on the highway home with the cruise control engaged. All 3 times releasing the CC, and the brakes lit. Same fix.

This happen to anyone else??

Only thought here would be a brake pedal sensor of some sort becoming engaged which would turn off the cruise control?
As for when you're getting on the highway and obviously not in cruise control i have no idea.

Yep, your brake light switch needs replacing. Classic symptoms. Easy fix, 20 minutes tops! Here's the DIY.

Was the same for me. Tranny would not auto-shift sometimes, throttle cut off and no cruise control. Brake switch solved it.
