    S4 Race Wars 2015

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This has been so far, traditionally, a b5 s4 event. It would be great to get some of the 4.2 cars in on the action so this is a cross post between the b5 s4 section and this section. - http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...fficial-Thread

Year 3! We are moving from State College a little bit West.

This years event will be held at the Meadowlands Casino in Washington, PA (just south of Pittsburgh) over the weekend of Friday May 29th through Sunday May 31st, 2015!

We will have a three day event this year with drag racing at Pittsburgh Raceway Park Friday as well as a"cruise" on Saturday and a fun little road rally on Sunday. There will be a road rally with checkpoints on Sunday starting and ending at the Meadowlands Casino.

    Facebook Event Page

    FRIDAY: (6:30pm to Midnight)
Friday's event will be a test and tune session that night at Pittsburgh Raceway Park located at 538 Stone Jug Road - New Alexandria, PA 15670. The event will be testing and tuning and the best ET and fastest MPH will be noted. There will be cameras galore, but bring your own if you want. This event will be subject to change as we do not have the track rented out and are just attending the standard test and tune session. Gates open at 5:30 pm and racing starts at 6:30 pm. Bring your spare O1E trans if you are going for that quickest ET.

    SATURDAY: (LEAVE AT NOON)
Saturdays "cruise" will head out at NOON from the hotel parking garage, so eat your wheaties and clean up your car and be ready to roll at NOON. A specific meeting location away from the casino will be handed out just before leaving the lot. The "cruising" will be staged from that specific location. The staging will be done by the organizers so bring your mods list and we will sort people into groups. (Brett will always be in the slow group, lol). For those of you not wanting to "cruise", there will be plenty of space to hang out and relax.

    SUNDAY: (LEAVE AT 10 AM)
Sundays event will be a Road Rally with 2 check points that will be handed out just before the event kicks off. The event will start at 10:00 am with cars rolling off at 11:00 am. The event should not take longer than 2 hours and 45 min per car to compete so we can expect all cars to be finished around 3:00 pm at the latest. There will be 2 check points at which pictures (selfies) will be required to prove you made it to those check points. The start will also be the finish. If you do not want to participate and only spectate there will be space to park and "show" your car.

***EVENT ORGANIZERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EVENTS OR ACTIONS LEADING TO YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH LOCAL, STATE, OR FEDERAL AUTHORITIES BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER S4RW15**

We have a block rate for the Hampton Inn & Suites - Meadow Lands. The rate is $149 per night. We have reserved 10 rooms for Friday night and 10 rooms for Saturday night. These rooms are guaranteed until 4-29-15. To get the group rate, YOU MUST CALL THE HOTEL and give them the group code ALD or tell them you are with the Audi Car Show. The hotel phone number is 1-724-222-4014 There is no obligation with your reservation and no fee for cancellation with 24 hours notice. You can get the room cheaper if you book ahead of time through a booking website. The room rates will almost certainly exceed the $149 rate as we approach the event dates due to the oil/fracking boom happening in the area. I was told rooms at the end of May this past year were booking for in excess of $200. OUR RATE IS ONLY GUARANTEED IF BOOKED PRIOR TO 4-29-15. Please post up if you book a room through the group rate. If we exceed 10 on either night, I will request an expansion of secured rooms.

PM me if you plan on coming and I will put together and list here:

I agree. For that title he should at least have a jhm manifold and spacers. Probably headers too for that matter, and not to mention the 6 rib kit and light weight rotors that are all bolt-on accessories.

yup, Friday is drag strip day! Some of us might also go again Saturday night additionally, if there is enough demand for it. Hope to see some of these fast 4.2s I keep hearing so much about.

Nice jab. Are we really going there again? It would be running had your favorite tuner not requested a 7.6 AFR lol.

Anyways, didn't you say you were coming if they were going to a track? Way to puss out

Haha, keep repeating what people told you and maybe someday it will be true.

Yeah, I always drive 5+ hours to meet up with a group of guys who I don't really care for online let alone in person...that makes sense.
To add to that, it's a mediocre dragstrip at 1200ft elevation and it will be the end of May. We settle on our house on May 28th anyways...I'll probably have time to build a house and supercharge my RS4 before you see your RS6 again. I guess we will just wait and see.

I've also seen plenty of charts like this..

    LAMBDA E85 AFR GAS AFR
    0.710 6.930 10.437
    0.720 7.027 10.584
    0.730 7.125 10.731 @ Max Power Multi Turbo
    0.740 7.222 10.878
    0.750 7.320 11.025 @ Supercharged/Turbo
    0.760 7.418 11.172
    0.770 7.515 11.319 @ Max Power NA
    0.780 7.613 11.466
    0.790 7.710 11.613
    0.800 7.808 11.760 @ Consistant Race
    0.810 7.906 11.907
    0.820 8.003 12.054
    0.830 8.101 12.201
    0.840 8.198 12.348 @ Part throttle RACE
    0.850 8.296 12.495
    0.860 8.394 12.642
    0.870 8.491 12.789 @ Idle

I'm not sure what went on with you, your car, and the tuner. But a tune is only as good as the hardware and the supporting mods. Did you have aftermarket AFR meters? Did you calibrate them correctly? Were you testing the E85 during tuning? Too many variables and you were a risk from the beginning.

All I remember is someone breaking the fastest RS6 trapspeed in the US on race gas and basically a shakedown visit...and bragging how fast his fucking car was. Also, thanking and giving props to the tuner. You chose to convert everything and go E85 for no good reason. You had a "guy" set up a fuel system, that even you said wasn't right in the first place. Who know what damage that did..am I right? and all of your posts talked about the tuner limiting your car for safety...weird...that doesn't sound like a guys trying to screw up your car. I didn't fabricate any of that, it's straight from your posts.

I'll remind you with a piece:

Thanks!! We had 35 cars show up last time with a last minute reschedule to the day before Thanksgiving. So we should have more people this time (hopefully).

That would be awesome, we need more events like this. There are the popular 1/2 mile(?) airstrip events were cars can show off their legs so it would be cool to get some 1/4 mile events going on annually.

Spare axles are always great to have, but you should be good on street tires if you don't have any wheel hop. Do you plan on running radials or slicks?

Like I said, pussed out. You were all about it when it was first announced. I think you just realized you pissed enough people off online that it's probably not a good idea to show up to an event like this. And you're never going to supercharge your car. You'd rather just talk online and jerk it to other people's timeslips. We all know that.

That would be awesome, we need more events like this. There are the popular 1/2 mile(?) airstrip events were cars can show off their legs so it would be cool to get some 1/4 mile events going on annually.?
I wish we could get something like this started here. I think the community's big enough, just everyone knows we're at 5500ft so all the N/A cars are gonna get walked.
I'm moving to Texas this summer and it looks like there are a lot of big events like these that just aren't audi specific. I remember last year I visited during the Texas 2k and I got passed by 3 GTR's a Bugati and an Aventador on my way to Houston. I think that event rents out a couple really long airstrips to do time attack events and what not. That'd be fun to see.

Haha, why would I worry about people I pissed off online? Do some of you carry that over to real life?

I said my piece, showed your words verbatim and I'm done in this thread.

Are you really asking if calling people names and putting them down online translates to real life? Jesus, do yourself a favor and stay home. Or just hide at more car shows lol.

I don't see any "words verbatim" lol. But have fun in your fantasy land. Oh you edited your post. Let me read this garbage

I feel a lot of hatred in this thread. I passed up a deal on a RS6 once, 23,000 miles, garage kept, and babied with the multiple PPI's to verify it all. I wonder what my life would be like had i taken that vs the b7s4..

Spare axles are always great to have, but you should be good on street tires if you don't have any wheel hop. Do you plan on running radials or slicks?
Airstrips would be a great option for cars with the O1E with less-than-ideal gearing.

Wheel hop is my biggest concern and that is why I am bringing spare axles. I will just be using a street compound radial on my car, I only think the blue tin can (marc's old car) will be on slicks. It now is on rs6 billet turbos with stock engine. Hopefully it doesn't spill its guts on the track...

Thats right, you DONT know what went on with me, my tuner or my car. So I'm not sure why you think you have any clue as to what caused my issues. You have zero experiences with E85, which ironically seems to be the same amount of experience your favorite tuner has as well, even though he claimed to tune E85 for SVT.

Did I have aftermarket AFR meters? Of course I did.

Did I calibrate them correctly? Thats just a silly question.

Yes I tested the E85 at several pumps in the area that I use, multiple times.

So no, not "too many variables"

Whats interesting about the chart you posted is that this is EXACTLY what I tried explaining to Kurt. Take a look at that chart you just posted. My AFRs aren't even listed, that's how rich I was running. You see, what he could not understand is that there are different scales for AFR meters. The typical way to tune for E85 on a street car is to leave the wideband in gas mode and continue to tune based off the gas scale. So your target AFRs would be something like 11.7 @ WOT. Kurt did not understand this. In fact, he fought me on it multiple times. I was told "not to listen" to anyone else or anything I've read and just to "trust him". So basically his target AFR was something like 7.6 ON THE GAS SCALE. An AFR gauge on the gas scale will only read as low (rich) as 10.0. And so what was happening was at WOT the gauge would peg 10.0. I would tell Kurt this and his response would be something like "Well, we want 7.6". I mean, this is just pure, basic, fundamental stuff, especially for such an experienced tuner.

This explains why my brand new O2 sensors were blown out within 1,000 miles or so of install. All 4 of them. Also, the catch cans he requested? Full of fuel after a few highway pulls.

Go back and read my own thread you love to quote. The car was consistently breaking up around 5,500 RPMs during multiple gear pulls. Sometimes on a single gear pull it would, but mostly on multiple gear pulls. This is why sometimes we would think we had it fixed, and then would end up at the track with the car breaking up around 5,500 RPMs and would go home and start over.

This started in October of 2013 and I was told by your tuner that I had hardware issues. We chased them in my garage for months! All resulting in the same exact issue throughout the process. Car breaking up at 5,500 RPMs.

I was asked by your tuner to change :

Diverter valves - same results, breaking up at 5,500 RPMs
Coil Packs twice - same results, breaking up at 5,500 RPMs
Plugs twice - same results, breaking up at 5,500 RPMs
Add catch cans - same results, breaking up at 5,500 RPMs

    Blamed my alternator as well!

It was all because the tune was WAY WAY WAY too rich.

Who know what damage that did..am I right? and all of your posts talked about the tuner limiting your car for safety...weird...that doesn't sound like a guys trying to screw up your car. I didn't fabricate any of that, it's straight from your posts.

I'll remind you with a piece:

So you drove the car...what a good 1200-1300 miles on a shady fuel system
Bragging? NO. Excited? Yes. You would never know because you havent done shit in an Audi. You leave your cars basically stock and talk shit about everyone elses mods and car problems.

I'll admit I hated my fuel system that was on the car for a month. It was a single upgraded pump in the tank feeding a surge tank to a loud ass Aeromotive A1000 pump in my trunk. It was loud, it was annoying. And halfway through my trip before I left to come home the surge tank started to weep. I made it home and changed it out immediately.

Are you really trying to blame a leaking surge tank on my issues? Thats absolutely pathetic. There was nothing wrong with the injectors, or the fuel pressure regulator.

Bottom line is, the car was tuned improperly. And you need to get over it. So ya, when you try to make jabs about my car being down. Please remember that its your team that caused this.

In any case, I'm sure it wont take 3 years like that built motor B6 that just got finished elsewhere, or the RS4 from Michigan that blew up on a JHM SC.

Unfortunately I wont have much engine power done by that time other than a JHM tune, piggies, catback, plus coils and wheels.

Is that considered full bolt ons? Im not 100% familiar with 4.2 lingo for what you guys consider FBO cars.

What wheels? I love classic rs4 19s on the later bodys. Really matches the lines well.

FBO would include headers, intake manifold, lightweight parts, etc.. pretty much everything besides our blower than you can just bolt on to the car.
