I'd like to know as well. Often my windshield could use a squirt but I don't do it because I don't want the guy behind me to drive through a cloud of my spray.

I've been guilty of turning my lights off for a second so I can get some spray on the windshield without the headlights firing.

I live somewhere I never need to wash my headlights. Should be an option in MMI.

What do you mean? If you turn off your lights, the lights washers won't activate. Are you saying they wash your lights whether they're on or off?
