Can you elaborate on this topic I was just about to buy a set of ST coilovers until I heard of this??? I'm using this car as A DD no aggressive driving just wanted something to level off the car and get rid of wheel gap.... But why do they need rebuild vs buying new vs why do they not last? Thanks.

Well, many coilovers last a long time. Sometimes longer than OEM suspensions. But there are more parts inside and larger forces being inserted on the components, therefore this can lead to those components wearing out like any other part.

I found out Feal Suspension is not able to rebuild Konis and that PSI wants over $270 a corner to rebuild. Koni wants a minimum of $175 a corner. I'm most likely going to bag the rebuild and just get a set of BC coils if I can't find a place that can do it for less.

I have a custom set of JIC FLT-A2 dampers on my Mitsubishi that I got through John back when he was still part of Road Race Engineering, replaced with custom front spring rates and corner balanced.
My heavy-ass under-steering Eclipse never handled so well in it's life.

Do you think if your not an aggressive driver and do not track the car... Plus use it for aesthetics than these will last..? And somewhere between 200-300 per corner it sounds as if you could just buy another pair or just put your original parts back in right?

Also, how do you know when they actually wear out???? And, are the noisy upfront too?

If you're just doing street driving, pretty much any component will last longer vs. track work. I bought the car with the coilovers so no stock suspension.

Also, Koni apparently will not supply parts to anyone other than approved vendors. Which means vendors like PSI, and there's no way I'm going to spend the amount of money that would get me new coilovers to get these old ones rebuilt. So Mueller, Feal etc do not rebuild anything Koni.

    BC coilovers it is!
