B6/B7 s4 owners with children, how do you protect your back seats?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a little one on the way shortly (april 16th), and I am looking for something to protec the rear seats. I know the b6/b7 seats are pretty deep and angled, does anyone have any experience with car seat protectors or even just using a towel or a blanket? I want to protect the seats from any small spills, etc as well as indents from the base of the car seat as well
I've seen some available from babies'r'us etc, but don't want to waste the money on trial and error if I can avoid it
    Thanks

i always just used a couple of beach towels and didnt have any issues.
remember... sippie cups only and make sure one doesnt get thrown under the seat..... where it will slowly leak out.

Its been a while, but I also remember the car seat base making a near perminant dent in the rear seat foam. Of course safety is paramount so the base needs to be tightly secured to the seat using the seat belt, but try to insert something under the baby seat (maybe the beach towel) to reduce the dent.

I have had my almost 3 year old in my s4 since birth. They make these rubber/fabric seat protectors ( Eddie Bauer) maybe, that go under the car seat. I have a Recaro flow fit car seat, and it fits fine. I don't allow food in my car, but on the rare occasions he's smuggled something in you can just wipe up the mess. I have platinum interior too, and it's remained pristine.

I have a 2004 and it carried my son from baby on up. No special protection other than a towel under the car seat to protect the leather from indents was needed. The back seat today is flawless.
Don't go into this thinking kids will be messy and such. That is a cop out and your child will learn from you. I taught my son to be clean and take care of things. We never eat in the car and if he was drinking something, it's sippy cups or such which are great.

    Be a great parent.

but it seems towel is the consensus from most threads I've found
This is my second child, my 4 year old isn't one for making a mess so i've never had any issues there lol
I've always used a wool mexican/baja style blanket thing laid across the whole backseat in my WRX's, so never really had to worry about the leather

Has anyone had any complaints about the car from their little one?
my 4 year old always complains about my ex's little hyundai accent :P

BTW, i have not taken delivery of the s4 yet, i have a deposit down on it; as it's a 4 hour ride to go pick it up

I second that. I still find god damn Cheerios every once in awhile when I detail the car. If you love your car make them ride in mommies car or by a truck with a vinyl interior that you can hose out. BTW girl or boy?

Congrats! I have a 7yr old girl and a 4 yr old boy. I take to and from school everyday. I made sure those Recaros are protected. 1st make sure you condition them on a reg basis. Next get these for the kicking.

I use a blanket so it doesn't leave scratches; remove the seats every now and then so you don't leave indentations.

I'd be looking for one of these:

    http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Seat_Cover/ES1877423/

ECS doesn't have it anymore, but I'd imagine a dealer might still have one in stock.

I picked something like that up from petco that's for dogs. Not Audi, but it was on clearance for $7 bucks. I'm betting pet stores have something you could use

I'm using these in my wife's car and they seem to be doing the job. Going on three years now and I have three of them.

I have fast intentions resonated system. My boy likes it. He refers to my car as "ba-boom!" Which is his impression of how it sounds at startup. I think the slight drone at highway speeds actually helps him nap.

I had the CORSA system on mine. It was louder than my neighbor's Viper by a longshot. When my son was little, he used to call it Daddy's vroom vroom car.

I use Neat Seats they're pretty good. Thick rubber folding mat. Also have protectors for the back of the front seats to protect against dirty shoes! lol
As for exhaust, I'm fully catless with custom 2.5's mated to Non Res Miltek, kids love it!

That seat cover worked along with a towel (I had an old movers blanket that I cut..it was perfect because it had the padding) so far so good, 2 layers of fabric is key. Those pads that you can buy are good but you never see them anyway so ya might as well just take an old towel, save the money and throw it in their college fund. Also remember to treat your seats with leather conditioner prior to putting them on It helps making them slippery so abraision is not an issue, and more pliable so the leather recovers. I have 2 recaro kid seats in back and they seam to understand not gauging your seats. I had a graco base in my car and my wifes and those seam to leave the biggest dents. Plus the recaros give ya street cred with the tuners.
    oh yea congrats btw
