When repairing deep gouges in aluminum rims, do you zinc chromate primer the gouge before filler? im not sandblasting the entire wheel back to bare, just repairing small spots then repainting(unless i can find a deal on powdercoating). if i were painting bare aluminum id prime the metal surface first then paint but does filler need to be primed as well?
