So i just bought some A6 rims for my A4 and upon having the tire shop remove the old tires, i discovered the sensors. Is there a way to test the sensors to see if they still work? A quick google search revealed nothing. I was going to sell them and put the money toward a new set of tires but i don't want to sell garbage. the part number is 4D0 907 275. they are gray, made by BERU and i have 5 of them. I posted this in the B5 section but as these are a6 parts i figured it should go here instead. They are dated 2005 so i figures they are off a similar model year car. Thanks

The only way to really test the sensor is by going into any tire store and they'll have a snap-on tool which they basically just get near the sensor and it will be able to tell if the sensor is active or not. I had an issue with a sensor dying on me and that's how my indy figured out which one.

Furthermore, sensor life is about 5-6 years. So if yours are from 2005, I can guarantee that they are all dead and worthless. Since the batteries are no replaceable and you have to buy new TPMS.
