Cel light after piggies and jhm tune. HELP!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello all,
I had my pre-cats gutted a couple of weeks ago in addition to adding ecs h-pipe. I picked up the car from the shop with the cel on which I was told was normal for "piggies" however once I got my jhm tune it would code it out. I just got the jhm tune installed on Thursday and in less than 15 miles the cell is back. I have attached the scan that I ran this morning. I clear the codes and took it on another spin and cel just came back with just the 2 fault codes.

Could the O2 sensors have been damaged during piggie install? I also have been noticing slight moisture droplets coming from where the O2 sensors may be. If I let the car run for a few minutes in the driveway and then move it. I see to identicle moist spots on ground which I'm baffled about.

Am I overthinking things here? Could the installer of the tune messed up and not tuned correctly, what I mean is that when he was attempting to select which program to install, he wasn't sure as he said that jhm had a couple of software options to choose from for the rs4. I told him that I had the h-pipe and piggies installed and it seemed like he didn't really understand what I was talking about. Thank you all in advance!

most all of that is caused by your secondary O2 sensor reading too rich due to lack of catalyst in the former catalytic converter.
Roc-Euro and a few others sell O2 sensor bungs that have catalyst in them to trick the computer. Don't worry about the secondary O2 sensor as it only tells the car how efficient the catalyst is, it doesn't change A/F mixture, detonation, or other stuff.

That's what I hear. The concern is that the tune is supposed to account for that and prevent cel.

    ^ Is it?

I had my rear O2's fail not long after installing DPs. JHM tune. Replacing the O2 sensors with new units resolved the issue.

It is very common for people to mix up the rear oxygen sensors when reinstalling too.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, The actual electrical plugs can't be mixed up but the actual hardware that screws into the POST cat s2 is mixed up possibly, correct?

    This portion?

Having a similar problem as the OP, so are you saying the o2 spacers Roc-Euro sells will take care of the problem even if the sensor is still faulty? Or would the sensor need replacement first. Also would Y-Bands fix this problem?

If you have the JHM tune, don't use spacers...they are pointless

The actual connector part of the sensor could be swapped, but they are usually different colors and if your mechanic screwed up a color coded plug..you should probably run away from him quickly.

No an O2 spacer WILL NOT fix a faulty sensor. Please Goolge "how a rear O2 works" and then Google "why an O2 spacer helps prevent a CEL"

and I think you mean V BANDS...but you have no clue what you are talking about. Google that too...

That pic isn't of my underside, it was just an example. No spacers are needed w a tune

No an O2 spacer WILL NOT fix a faulty sensor. Please Goolge "how a rear O2 works" and then Google "why an O2 spacer helps prevent a CEL"

and I think you mean V BANDS...but you have no clue what you are talking about. Google that too...
Not using spacers, that pic was for reference. I would assume if they were colored plugs and he plugged them in correctly, he could have bolted them in the wrong bungs, correct?

Yes, it's very likely because people do it all the time. Complacent people IMHO, but everyone makes mistakes I guess. Yeah those aren't RS4 DPs in the picture.
