Custom made exhaust systems

I've searched for a while and all I could find was S4 setups. I want to do a Custom turbo back exhaust using JHM High Flow Cat, has anyone done something like this? I haven't seen any. I live close to a very good muffler shop who's offered to do the set up using magnaflow mufflers and eliminating the resonators. We where debating the diameter and I think I will go with 3" from the down-pipe. Any pictures of your set up or ideas will be greatly appreciated. By the way My car is 2.0T Quattro 6 speed MT

I plan on the same thing soon. Using unitronic 3" downpipe/HFC plus Remus axle back. Then having a shop make a custom 3" Y then reducing to the 55mm after the Y removing the resonator.

Why 3 resontors? so 1 on each exhaust on the Y and than one next to the down pipe?

I'm running 3" to 2.5" test pipe, then 2.5" straight pipe to two magnaflow mufflers with quad 3.5" tips. It's loud but not screaming, I like it. Going to switch it probably to straight 3" though.

V-Band 3" DP, 3'' to dual vibrant resonators to 3'' dual magnaflows with 4" tips. Yes full 3" lol

This maybe a dumb question but do yall buy the mandrel bent pipes and then take it to a muffler shop and have them put it together and weld it up? Or, do the shop around yall mandrel bend themselves?

I took my mandrel pipes to the shop.

$250 straight pipe
$850 downpipe
$500 regular 3" exhaust.
$300 rs4 exhaust
$400 polished mufflers with quad tips
$400 branch resonator.

That is currently what is spliced into bits in my exhaust.

But there have been 3 other exhaust setups before this. I think out of anything on my car, I've spent the most money on exhaust. It's perfect now tho. Which sucks because I'm about to redo it in 4" piping

Here's my exhaust, 3" all the way.

I have since then had a Y welded after my down pipe and now run a stock B7 S4 exhaust.

It's surprisingly quiet people complain about drone on here all the time but I have no idea what they are talking about. Sound is subjective though. I had a 95 Corsica with no cat no resonator and 2 in dual side exit that had some drone

Ya, it's definitely subjective. Thanks for the info! I'm debating cutting out my resonator since it's not the lowest part of my car by an inch or two and am worried it's going to get caught on something and do some damage, but am worried it'll be freaking loud without it.

Side note, EPY's 1/4 wavelength branch resonator thread just blew my mind. If I wasn't a somewhat lazy ass, I'd go that route for sure.

Mine looks exatly like that too. techtonics tuning downpipe (2.5") then reduced to 2.25" at the Y then into magnaflow 11225 muffler and magnaflow tips. This exhaust was on my B6 and the tips looked good but now look too big on the B7. No pics yet on the B7, but here's the B6.

Does it make any difference if the mufflers are round or oval? I was discussing the set up with my friend and he suggested Magnaflow but they are round. Just curious since I will be getting the exhaust done and installed next week.

Have you ever gotten it wet from heavy rains or big puddles? With the placement of the filter right there? One day I want to do a setup similar to yours.

I have a CAI setup similar to jim's but my filter sits a bit higher than his (closer to headlight level). Haven't had any issues driving through puddles or in deep snow.
