Well, lately I've been having some issues with my low oil pressure warning beep at me and blink red telling me to shut off engine, but only when slowing to a stop or slowing to turn a corner. It does consume quite a bit of oil and I make sure to top it up occasionally with 0w-40 castrol syntec. Last summer one of the lobes on my intake camshaft had slipped so I had to replace this and the timing chain. Ran great after that! But once in a while I will hear a ticking noise seemingly coming from the drivers side of the engine and the ticking does not go away when I increase the RPM's. I'm scared to say this but is my oil pump about to quit on me? Also, on a 2010 A4 2.0T what causes the oil consumption to be so high? Is there a part I can replace to stop this? The car has high km's (198000!).
I need to get a dipstick for it instead of using MMI, so can anyone give me the dimensions of their dipstick? (length, measurement on the end) I know they aren't expensive, but I always like to try making my own tools etc before having to buy the real deal haha!
