Last summer one of the lobes on my intake camshaft had slipped so I had to replace this and the timing chain. Ran great after that! But once in a while I will hear a ticking noise seemingly coming from the drivers side of the engine and the ticking does not go away when I increase the RPM's. I'm scared to say this but is my oil pump about to quit on me? Also, on a 2010 A4 2.0T what causes the oil consumption to be so high? Is there a part I can replace to stop this? The car has high km's (198000!).
I need to get a dipstick for it instead of using MMI, so can anyone give me the dimensions of their dipstick? (length, measurement on the end) I know they aren't expensive, but I always like to try making my own tools etc before having to buy the real deal haha!

I would suggest having your oil pressure measured and any issues addressed. The oil pump also pumps oil to operate the timing chain tensioner, keeping the chain from skipping and causing serious damage. I would not ignore something as critical as your oil pump.
The high oil consumption appears to result from improperly fitted piston rings on 2009-2011 models and it tends to get worse with time. The stage 1 fix involves a different PVC breather/valve which seems to be designed to reduce crankcase pressure and attempt to reduce the amount of oil being pushed past the rings.
It's difficult to get info on the exact technical details. Even the Audi tech's I've asked are not entirely clear on the details. Audi appears to repairing cars that are outside the warranty, so you may want to talk to a dealer. It's hard to say with your km's.
