Sweet, may have to pick these up at some point. More important things to buy for the time being though.

What are the IDs of both ends? Are they the same size or is one size smaller than the other to fit the WG and compressor housing?

Don't like it don't buy it.

I've been running silicone hose in place of these hoses for 5 years without a problem. Would I at some point consider buying these 034 hoses? Sure.

I don't understand why a company offering a new product to the market gets your panties in such a bunch. I for one am glad that we have companies still supporting and producing products for our 15+ year old cars now.

If the price is too high and no one is buying them, 034 will be forced to lower the price. If they sell at the price they have them listed then so be it. You're not in a position to know what their cost is or comment on their profit margins.

two 6" straights of silicone is a "new product"? please tell me how 034 was the leading edge in inventing and designing silicone over 70 years ago? ohh, didnt think so.

i dont recall asking what their cost is, or what their profit margins were. its obviously high. but hey, if you want to get ripped, you are more than welcome, ppl just need to just do some research before they just throw away their money. its pretty simple these days, ever hear of this thing called GOOGLE? it can find you anything and almost answer any question

See THIS is the problem you're not understanding. They are NOT straight silicone hose, there's a taper since the WG nipple is smaller diameter than the N75 nipple.

You MUST be a lucky guy, or at least luckier than me... I had an overboost issue for a short time on my F21 setup, that I diagnosed as this EXACT stock rubber wastegate line, and replacing it fixed my overboost issue. I couldn't really see a tear but it was there somewhere.

What's the fuss all about? The hose costs $15. Not exactly a steal, but also not exactly anal rape by any means for a piece that should be trouble free for the life of the vehicle. Personally, I would just go buy some rubber hose for $0.90/ft, unless I had repeated issues. Then this would be worth it.

Our silicone hose has the same taper as the factory one, to fit both the N75 and the WG/compressor.

I'm glad to hear you've personally never had an issue with one of these hoses tearing or leaking. That's great.

I apologize for the "outrageous" shipping charges. We charge what our shipping carriers charge us, and our website provides quotes based on item weights. This means that we can't offer Flat-Rate USPS options online, and the quotes generated are based solely on calculated item weight, which may be higher than actual weight due to dimensions.

You can always PM us or give us a call about small items like this; we're happy to help out with shipping costs and ship in Flat Rate boxes when possible.

All of our carriers give us pricing based on weights, dimensions, and zones. They also have minimum shipping rates. We can't ship anything with FedEx for less than $9. In some zones, it might cost you almost the same to have one of these hoses shipped to you as one of these hoses and a couple of engine mounts. We're a small business and we pay small business shipping rates to our carriers, not uber-discounted Amazon/Newegg/TigerDirect/Walmart rates.

    Cheers,
    Laszlo@034

Thank you for the kind words and very reasonable input on the situation!

We made this hose because we had a number of emails and phone calls requesting it. Since we could make them available at less than half the price of factory ones, we decided to make enough to stock them, and see how it goes. It's just an option, but as far as I know, it's the only direct replacement for the stock part.

If we sell 10 of these hoses, we'll likely break even on the 5 minutes I spent explaining how our website calculates shipping rates, so yay for that!

One question I have before I pull the trigger is are these hoses any longer than the OEM ones? I have a silicone TIP and with its stiffer design than the OEM TIP it wasn't bending as easily and the original hoses, particularly the n75 to wastegate, were kinking as they tried to reach the extra inch of so in length.

These replacement hoses are the same length. You may be able to trim or rotate your TIP for slightly easier connection of the hoses.

    All Over!

I for one don't currently need this silicone hose - my last 1.8T was a B6 Avant Quattro.

But if I did need one, I would be more than happy to purchase a more robust replacement from 034 Motorsport, for a fraction on the price of a stock item from Audi.

Audi? That reminds me - we get raped by Audi price wise each time we purchase items from them! How many of us whinge over their outrageous prices? You visit Audi to purchase a headlamp switch for a B6, and they'll literally bend you over, and give you the rough end of a pineapple.

Companies like 034 keep our ageing B5's on the road, and I will continue to support them, and other similar outfits. Shipping charges? Lol...you guys are lucky. Consider what I pay for smaller items shipped from the US to the UK, and you'll realise you have a major advantage.

Play nice. If a product seems too expensive to you, then simply ignore the vendor, and either buy elsewhere, or make your own.
