Is there a verdict on the effectiveness of deselecting DSR to improve steering feel?

Yet another thread was just begun on B8.5 steering feel but after reading all the other steering threads I just don't see a consensus on using vag-com to deselect Driver Steering Recommendation. I'm especially interested in hearing from those who have an updated rack as well as DSR deselected. Does it help or not?

I have a 2015 S4 which has this steering rack equipped from the factory:



The P/N is 8K1 423 055 BR in case it's too hard to read.

My steering has weird on-center behavior as I have stated in other threads. It's pretty consistent- I have felt it every day that I've driven the car, at stock ride height and alignment specs and after lowering and realigning the car (although my front camber is out of spec due to lowering). I have disabled DSR via VCDS and noticed no appreciable difference, so I re-enabled DSR in preparation for my 5k oil change interval during which I will address this issue with the dealer.
