Anyone running the T3 treadstone manifold?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've done searches which lead me to another audi sites. The few people said good things but couldn't find pics or talk to anyone. If your running 1 or know some1 running it, can you give me your opinion on it. I'm running a ATP mani & the room to run a 3" intake with MAF is beyond tight. Looks like the tombstone sits the turbo atleast 2" back for more room. If no good I'll get a SPA but already own the treadstone. Thanks.

Are there "bolt on" down pipes for these kinds of set up? I want to do a BT, but the elim kits are obviously the easiest bc they use the same DP and mounting position. But running s t3/t4 flange would flow so much better.

SPA has a down pipe but not stock location like elimin kits. If I run the treadstone I'll have to have muffler shop build full exhaust from mani.

The mark up of prebuilt DP's are very high any way. Just like pre made exhaust systems. I don't think $ will b that much more.

If you need to run an MAF, why not grab a 3" 90 degree bend? I think a lot of people call them a cobra hose or something.

Here, go to page 218 of this PDF. I am talking about part #2. This is a Cummins 4bt engine

cobra is not fully round, its flattened at one point to squeeze in tight spaces.

I have a ATP 3" DP with v band to turbo. It costs like $350 from their website. A local exhaust shop can build it for no more if not less $.

Yeah, I know that. The point is to use that hose and run the intake back up above the wheel well. The "cobra" intake helps you fit the piping in between the turbo and the headlight

With my ATP manifold I would have to run a corbra el. Treadstone performance has a 3" for the cheapest I've seen. But they restrict air flow. With the treadstone mani, it sits the turbo about 2" back so a full 3" elbow will fit.

I ran atp mani with gt35r turbo. I made my own intake with 4" 90°silicone. I still have it laying around if anyone is interested in it. I can get pics over the weekend

Seeriah, thank you, that will be the 1st person that I know of on this site thats running 1.
Ray, it can be used with all 1.8t long. & transverse. Lifetime warranty & the knew 1s are SS. On the treadstone performance website they have pics of it bolted up & say it will clear a 4" intake setup.

I am big with the search button. I've searched for days on web & UTUBE for people running it or atleast talking about it. I read on vwvortex about 3 guys running & loving it. There are no downpipes for it though so people stay away from it. But I can't see having 1 custom made for you costing more than what they ask for the premade 1's. The SPA 1 is like $300. I have a full 3" DP with vband from atp site that costs $350 n it's like 2' long. I finally had to start this thread to get more feed on it. Ringer-racing sells it too.

Ray, that's what I said. With this mani u can actually keep a eye on wastegate & bolts. Same with the turbo & it looks like there's plenty of room to get to flange bolts. With most manifolds, either the wastegate or the turbo is buried. On my atp the turbo would have to come off to even get to the wastegate.
Also site says VW is 99 n up. For audi it says all 1.8t

    Oh that all makes sense.

I feel like it would be in a good place in the bay for me (cant run MAFless)

I remember seeing this mani before but didnt give it much thought. Now that i am looking at some different turbo options it might be something i will look into.

Ray, I'm in same boat as u, same 98.5'. For running MAF, like me, it's looking to be the easiest for room & maintenance. The atp I can say if a bolt comes loose it's a bitch to get to n u need for some to bend up ur own wrench to get to.
You look like u have a nice setup for a DD. Are u not happy with power & want more. If so, what hp/tq. r u looking for?

well i was happy. But i have an issue with not being able to pass up on deals because they are cheap so i bought a 2.0 stroker bottom end.
I have a stage 4 UM tune with proMAF now (havent updated sig)
so the weak point of my setup will be the turbo.
I want to go with an EFR/fullrace mani combo but thats like 3 grand.
The pag parts setup also looks really nice and i like the placement of it all.

My car isnt a daily (i put about 1500 miles on it in 2014)

I would like 315 or so at the wheels with the eliminator turbo. I would hope to be up around 400 with a solid full frame build and some fine tuning of my tune.

I will probably get the stroker in and setup by april/may, drive the car all summer and then it will get garaged for a while as i am moving into the city. In the meantime i will be looking for deals on turbos, manifolds and whatever else i need to make more power...probably meth as well.

Fwiw the spa dp fitment was shit on mine at the very least. I know someone else actually sent it back to get fixed. I had to put a new hole in for the rear 02 since it was pointed straight into my tranny, the bracket was way off, and I had to cut the wastegate pipe off. It was off by at least an inch. That being said, it was still worth it given that it still looks nice n' shiny. Plus every exhaust shop I tried wouldn't touch it without a cat. Wastegate bolts are a huge pia on the spa mani. They back out every few months. At some point when its warmer I'm gonna safety wire them.

GrapeBandit, just saying with the treadstone it's right in ur face.
Vrmm, thanks for the info on the SPA manifold & dp. Yeah, that wastegate placement looks like hell once installed. I was really thinking of going with them but definitely are hearing mixed reviews. Mostly with cracking & fitment but in all most are happy still with performance. I think it's worth going with the treadstone & I will this spring. If the exhaust shops make me get a cat (high flow), I'm ok with that cause NY is very strict anyway with emissions.

I tend to wait for deals on everything. I enjoy spending money on my hobbies and if I can buy and sell some things to help with the cost it doesn't make me feel as bad

I will probably make a thread but I am hesitant on wanting to open my build up for everyone to comment on.
