Hey all, recently I was hit in my b5 s4 and I've been looking for a replacement car. I found a salvage title s4 that was hit in the front end, no major damage, all work was fixed already and I wanted to know what troubles I'd be going through to get it roadworthy(rebuilt title). I looked up some information on the matter but can't find exactly how the process works.
From what I read you need paperwork of the vehicle being fixed and paperwork for the new parts but my friend has a salvage evo he bought and from what he remembers he took it to get inspected and they just made sure everything works, lights, etc. Also if its 10 years or older they don't need paperwork, etc. Can't quote him on that because its been a few years.
I really dont care that it would still be a rebuilt title, value is low, etc. Its not a car I plan to sell anyways.
Anyone in the Chicago land or IL area familiar with the process?
Thanks
