^Yeah, but that's not going to work with his metal master. Unless USP Motorsports will make him a custom line with threads on both ends. They probably would, too.
Having installed this line during my 5-speed swap (with engine, trans and brake booster/master removed), I completely agree that a braided metal line would be *so* worth it if you are doing it yourself (and probably even if somebody else is doing it!).
Depending on where the break in the line is, it may be possible to repair it in place. I used a compression fitting on mine to convert a newer "push-lock" line to a threaded fitting. Thus I am running a plastic master with a metal slave using an OEM line. The compression fitting is used to splice the metal part of the line like so:
You can see in the photo that I've used that fitting to effectively replace the last 6 inches of the OEM line with a piece of my own making. But if the leak is in the rubber hose part...you're hosed.
