    Interesting Video about Carbon Deposits

Anyone see this about carbon deposits? I know some people really dislike this guy, but I have to admit I've learned a lot. What I find the most interest in towards the end end of the video.... Driving hard may cause more deposits. That said, we don't know for sure until someone is able to measure the intake valve temps.

    Thoughts?

Well I'm stuck in traffic most of the time and rarely get the chance to redline it. Now I don't feel that bad.

I like his videos. And yeah I agree the conclusion seems to depend on the engine. I think in older engines it probably made more sense, since they were more commonly NA with port injection. In that case, even if you aren't getting things hot enough more load means more fuel with means more detergents to remove deposits. Modern engines, idk. But I do remember my granddad had a Cadillac XLR, with the northstar V8. And in the manual it actually said full throttle acceleration is good for the health of the engine lol.
