Thanks for the comments guys! I'm just under 122k miles in case anyone was counting.

Justin (Wagonholic) came in clutch this week and basically did the Bixenon retrofit for me. I've had the parts sitting here for a year!! Here is a iPhone photo dump featuring the red tails, old wheels, new wheels, bixenon retrofit with HIDs, and us at In N Out and more!

Big shout out to David Kling (IG: @capnplanet) for these 2 shots:

I'm in love with the car. No reason not to keep it long enough for a proper forced induction build, right?

Damn, car really looks great man, spic and span! Loving the new wheels, your car is sitting perfect in my opinion. How do you like the bixenons? What kit did you use, and do your original factory hi-beam reflectors do anything anymore?

Although I bought my car stock, someone had already swapped in TSX-R clear lenses with halogen bulbs. It had a nice cut off but the output was still bad. What a difference now. Wagonholic has a cleaner cutoff but its still pretty damn good.

I'm using eBay bixenons with a DDM HID kit, and lexan adapter from RENOxDECEPTION. $100 setup and not very difficult to install.

If you're lights are on and you hit the hi-beam, you get the full projector light + hi-beams. If your lights are off then only the factory hi-beams turn on.

My favorite mods are 1) Steering Wheel 2) Lights

He has a frankenstein set up. I'll have him chime in here and I'll post better pictures of the lighting and cut off soon.

Love to see more pics of his car as well! Does he have an update thread?

And how's the light output compared to the previous setup?

I'll tell him to update his:

Light output is amazing! Still need to get a shot of that.

Wow I haven't updated in almost a year! For me that's reason to celebrate because it means I managed to make it a whole year without mods or issues.

I had the car in the shop once for an oil change, engine/trans mount update, and to look over the Vogtlands one last time because they are STILL clunking.

Probably going to go with the Bilstein B12 kit (Bilstein Sports + Eibach Springs) for $600 shipped here. I'd love to paint the calipers black to wrap up the exterior look but I might wait until a replacement is needed and do the TT/A8 upgrade.

Anyone know where I can find a piano black interior trim kit?

I'd just buy some gloss black vinyl and wrap the existing trim, just make sure you get good vinyl like 3M or else it'll scratch really easily.

Also, you may have mentioned earlier, but why did you switch from 1.8T to this 2.8? The car is gorgeous but people seem to prefer the 1.8, never driven a 2.8 so I'm curious haha.

The 1.8T was totaled - long story short. I was looking for another 1.8T but this one was just too clean to pass up. It's just as fast as a tuned 1.8T so it serves its daily purpose just fine, you just have to manage your expectations and understand its never going to be a "fast" car.

I love how this car looks. Also it's nice to see a 2.8 getting some love. How do you like the Bi-xenon retrofit? When I ordered my relay harness I was looking at TRS's retrofit kit and it seemed really appealing.

These 2.8s need love too! Considering the cost and ease of install I'd say the retrofit was great. Next time I'd probably step it up and get the best of the best just because I have a strange obsession with good lighting.

Agreed, I was inspired by a black B5 that had them. I thought the car looked newer after I did it but now I'm not crazy about it. It's just laminx so I can easily go back.

Alright I switched back to the OEM tails.

The car is now on its third suspension setup ST -> Vogtland GT3 -> Bilstein B12

So far very happy although it doesn't look quite as aggressive. Going to post a separate thread about my thoughts on the suspension and new engine/trans mounts. Also painted the calipers black but ran out of time after doing half the car so I'll wait until its all done to post pics.

    All Over!

    Beautiful!

If I may say this...I wouldn't bother with an induction kit. The OEM airbox works pretty well, looks good in the bay, as opposed to a cone filter, which leaves a nasty gap on the right-hand side of the bay.

And also adds no performance value, whatsoever.
