About ADS: we still don't have an answer on that. The stuff that affects "safety" systems like the steering is in a weird spot legally, so we have to confirm we won't get ourselves into trouble by offering such an option. But I think there's hope.

About showing the ECU revision: go into DIAGNOSE -> DETAILED INFO.

Sorry, I missed that one. So far our testing is not showing promising results. We haven't been able to get that behavior to work - it just seems that the car doesn't support it.

Much easier to enable features compared to VCDS, and more convenient as it uses a wifi connection. When connected, it will take some time before you get to the menu screen. I suspect it needs time to read each control module (similar to how long autoscan takes in VCDS).

As I have previously coded some features using VCDS, Carista appears to recognize which ones are enabled. Will still need to do some comparison testing to confirm which features actually work. Here are some screenshots that I took (some may be cut off as I had to scroll).

I purchased my ELM 327 wifi OBDII interface for ~$16 which I have been using with Dashcommand. *Make sure not to accidentally get the cheaper bluetooth version.*
To make things easier, I use it along with a 1 meter long OBDII flat extension cable so I can see the interface LED's working, and not worry about knocking the wifi interface with my foot.

QUESTION:
Did you try their interface (anyone), and are there any noticable differences , between Carista interface and this one? I like the ELM.

That's a very exciting update on the ADS, especially if it works on non-MMI without ADS. Hopefully more developments to come soon.

Just got an iOS update that claims to allow adjustment of DRL brightness on the A4 platform. Haven't tried it, but IIRC, that was a feature that required "security" access. If so, then maybe this opens the door for more cool customizations like VIM???

I just confirmed that the new added DRL brightness on my S4 is fully functional. My original setting was at 26% , changed to 70 % . 100 % looked to bright and afraid that I might cause to much glare .

Edit: I had to lower my settings to 60% , 70 was just to bright

S4 or A4? Sorry I read the updates and it said A4 so wasn't expecting anything for S4. Will look for it tomorrow regardless.

I know the DRL factory setting at night is 26%, does any body know what's the factory default setting during the day? Is it set at 80% or 100%?

Mine was set at 26 and cranked it to 50 and didn't notice a change. Someone else mentioned it didn't work for them either.

Carista will not customize on new. B9 according to their web site.

Re-tried this at 15%, 25% 45% and 75%, definitely works for me.

So I wasn't aware that this only worked when your headlights were on. I didn't know that the drl's were already at 100 with the headlights off. Thanks for reporting back though.

I wonder if you can customize that the DRLs actually turn off with the headlight switch in the off position.

On Carista there is a feature control DRL YES/NO. If you set YES, you be able to control DRL through the dashboard.

On the dashboard, you see DRL ON/OFF. Set OFF, the DRL will be off when the Headlights is off and DRL will go on when Headlight is ON.

DRL not fogs.

On the dashboard go on Car- Exterior Lightnings- Day running lights- On/Off.

To have acces the the DRL feature on Dashboard you need to activate with Carista first.

When you use the term "dashboard" are you meaning in the mmi? So you will have to go into the mmi to turn on/off the drl everytime. You make it sound like there is a button on the dashboard that you can use. Sorry for my confusion and thanks for explaining.

That should be "coming home lights", it's in the mmi already. If it's not I believe you can change that with Carista

On my 2013 S5 cabrio when I first tried the drl brightness it would not save
I was going from the default 26% to 100%
But when I tried 50% it worked
But can't go higher than 50%, if I do it says can't save and the car rejected the change
Has anyone gotten brighter than 50% on B8.5?

I tried again
I was standing outside the car to see of the brightness was changing or not
So I tried to switch back to the default 26%
Got the same "the vehicle is rejecting the new sitting value..." Error
So I kept trying to save a few times and it finally allowed me to save
So I tried 100% and it saved!
So if at first it won't save, keep trying

Changing LED brightness with headlights on worked perfectly for me the first time (2010). Initial setting was 9%, and I bumped it up to 50%. I watched it change. No high-beam flashes at me yet.

Will the new DRL brightness setting with the headlights on remain the same when the light switch is moved to the side marker light position (one position to the right of auto) and the headlights go off?
