True, I frequently cruise in 4th around town giving enough power to slow and accelerate without swapping gears every two seconds. It's all about being green though!

You have to enable them in the MMI under car settings>central locking. Look for central locking.

Once done in the app you have to set the controls in MMI. Was that done?

I finally contacted carista via the app. I did my own service but could not change the Service Due prompt. They got back to me within 2 days and I got the beta download. The reset service indicator fxn at first did not work, but I retried it after clearing a subwoofer fault code and it worked. The beta also says it supports resetting the launch control # for all of you DSG guys.

I have been able to add: 1. Lap timer, 2. Gear display, 3. oil temp, 4. Widows & roof, 5. Aux heating/Cooling, 6. Brake light flash and 7. Wink delete. To keep foot well lights on, it says I have no further options or something. I need to change a setting in the sub (green) Menu in MMI. I can get to this menu but I don't know what to change without screwing up my existing settings.

I used the beta to try to reset service indicator and it did NOT work.

    1) I connected to my OBDII using wifi, turned the app on and waited till 100%
    2) Then picked the button reset in Tools
    3) Screen says i need to pay $4.99 and need internet connection, i disable WIFI and use LTE to login Itunes to pay within the app.
    4) Turned on WIFI and connected to the OBDII again, and press the reset service button
    5) It told me to connect to internet to pay $4.99 AGAIN!!, so i do the process over again. But it did not work.

Seems like an endless cycle, nothing was charged, but can anyone help.

Just started playing around with this app (IOS) cause I bought wifi instead of bluetooth...

Got the Gear display to work in both D and S
    Removed the "wink"
Added Ambient light (following the 3 steps in the hidden menu for the 8.5 facelift model) - not sure if this works yet, haven't had a chance to drive at night

I'll tinker around some more - the IOS app is ok, it crashed on me a few times mid save. And I noticed a few options that were already sent to "enabled" when I know they were not...setting to "disabled" actually enabled the functionality, unless I'm misunderstanding the wording. I sent a note (through the app) to the administrators however no one has responded.

I just got pushed a new version this morning on my iPhone but it's not clear what exactly, if any new features have been implemented.

Here is the description from the email I received:

Carista OBD2 3.0 (300011) for iOS is ready to test

    What To Test:

New payment model - please try different variants of our 1-week access and yearly subscription. This beta also includes new customization settings and bug fixes.

To test this app, open TestFlight on your iOS device using iOS 8.0 or later and install the update.

In order to use Carista OBD2, you agree that crash data as well as statistics about how you use Carista OBD2 will be provided to Prizmos OOD and linked to your email address. Prizmos OOD may contact you regarding this information. You should review the Terms and Conditions of the TestFlight program, as well as the terms, policies, and practices of Prizmos OOD. Beta apps may crash or result in data loss.

Version 300009: Successfully disengaged rear parking brake for new pads. That is a really helpful tool, but the proposed pricing seems a bit high for that ($9.99). Especially since I already paid for the app and there are ways around the parking brake issue. Just my two cents on the proposed pricing, but it works great. I also was able to get the gear display. Pretty cool just out of curiosity for normal Drive since it's going through 8 gears. I will eventually switch it to sport shifting only. Did a bunch of other successful tests awhile ago. Don't remember them all, but I was able to get the Service Reminder reset. I wonder if something changed in the revisions? Not a bug, but I do wish the app functions would load up faster. I assume this is an OBD2 limitation. I would also love access to my settings while not connected to the OBD2. Just wishing, pretty pleased as it is.

Yeah I'm not fond of this fremium version. I already paid for the "pro" version for $20 and now they are adding micro (fractional?) transactions that are additively far more than the original price the "pro" version. Almost prohibitively so. If I'm going to pay that much for far less features than Ross tech I might as well go Ross tech

That is how I feel at this point. Charge me $20 once, ok. But keep nickel and diming me and it gets old, real fast.

I don't know why people are complaining about $10 every time you need to chance your brakes, it's not that big of a deal. The big feature, scanning for codes, is free. Reprogramming the car is free. The few little things you have to do infrequently are a for-pay feature, sounds like a deal to me.

If you track your car and want to swap out street pads for a track set 6x a year or more, it can add up quickly. Get it now?

I also feel like the nickel-and-diming with the EPB release and service interval reset are ridiculous. I think a lot of us (myself included) purchased the $20 premium version of the app with the thought that any and all additional features they added to it would be included. It may just be 10 bucks here and there, but the whole point of this app was that it was supposed to work with different makes/models and offer a high percentage of VCDS features for a fraction of the cost. With these add-ons, it starts to change that whole paradigm.

I agree - Sounds like they've adopted the same model as PushBullet which I used since the beginning until they started making you pay for features which were previously free. The $20 premium should grandfather in early adopters, the new payment model should be for new adopters, I think

I don't think that's who the app's target market is. It seems geared more toward the casual user. If you're tracking, you're probably doing a lot of other mods and should own your own cable already. I currently don't track, but hope to soon...maybe a couple times a year. I have both the cable and app. Cable is great as it can do everything. Still testing out the app more to see if I can truly go cable-less and sell it off. If you're a casual user, I don't see how Carista is not a win-win. It's about $40 up front and maybe another $60 tops over the lifetime of your car for the other charges. You'll still be ahead of the cable by $250!

So, any Android users that can answer my question?

Torque app is unable to identify IATs. Is carista able to read this value?

I want to do some testing to see if E85 mix really makes a difference with heat.

Carista doesn't read any values at all. It wasn't made for that.

Well fuck, so is there no other way other than P3 gauge or VAG Com? Maybe a P3 is in my future, unless I can get VAG Com + compatible tablet for same price. My win 7 laptop is shit, plus sucks to lug a huge laptop around. I've just never liked the vent gauge idea. Plus that vent is my favorite/most used, since it warms me hand in the winter, yarrr.

Is there a similar normal digital/switchable gauge I can use that can be installed in a podi pod?
