Well that's not entirely accurate. You have to get the obdII scanner. But still $40 is a heck of a lot less than $300 - $400. Especially if it does the basic things.

For those who are using it. Can you set the car up to start in ADS comfort instead of Auto with this?

Please make sure you include a link to the scanner you're using with the app. There isn't a good database currently and I don't see any reason why this post can't become that database.

I have the Vgate adapter.... All I get is this:



Everything is duplicated, and missing half of what everyone else gets as far as options.... Thoughts??? Anyone know who I should contact???

I get the same main options as you with the latest Android version with BT ELM327 adapter. (i.e. no Heat A/C menu like OP has) I can enable/disable most options shown by OP with the exception of the track timer/oil temp and the footwell lighting options. Are these missing options something new for the beta version?

It should default to the last mode it wad left in, automatically- no pun intended. That is, unless someone vag coded something to override this already. I not sure if this app can help, but vag-com can.

I think you can VAG-COM the B8s to go to "Individual" mode though on startup, and then configure individual settings to all the comfort settings.

Could be. Not sure what year the person who asked is driving. Either way, vag-com should help.

Does changing any of the settings cause your vehicle to be flagged by the dealer...such as TD1 flag when you tune the ecu? Also..does using this app on your car mess up your warranty?

changing settings will not give you TD1 .. however with changing settings you run the risk of disabling the car.. hopefully this app takes the majority of the risk away like having to change settings with vag-com but no.. you won't mess up your warranty

me personally no.. i haven't even changed anything yet.. hoping to use this app instead of vag-com .. seems to be more fool proof.. vag-com you have to change bit settings and numbers.. anything can happen.. i've seen a thread where a guy messed soemthing up and he had to reset some stuff.. it happens way less than one would be concerned about though.. but be mindful

Connected the full app this morning (pro version for $20) with a wifi OBDII ELM327 briefly. It can scan and report any fault codes stored as well emissions testing readiness status. Nice list list of "customization" settings we can make to our cars. And you don't have to manually change bit settings to accomplish this. Color me impressed. I am going to play with it more this weekend and compare it to the customization settings I can accomplish with my vag-com hex net module. As others have suggested, this might be a very good alternative to the vag-com products for about $45 ($20 app and $25 ELM327 module) particularly for those that have no interest in data logging or performing work on their cars.

2012 S4 so B8. Mine always starts in Auto. So before I start driving I always switch it to comfort or individual to drive in.

I just took a quick 5 minutes and gave this a spin. Disabled "the wink" which I hate. Maid not have time to play around much more but it does scan and does so fairly quickly in my opinion. For what I need right now this is surely a nice alternative to vcds.

You probably know this, but that feature is unlocked with the lap timer.

yes its read only until you get the pro version.. i'm all for buying it.. just waiting on my wifi unit .. if i can connect i'm buying

iant, I don't know the answer to the first part of your question, but it's the ODBII device that emits the wifi signal that connects to your iphone. You don't need to be connected to your home wifi

the wifi communication is between the OBDII wifi elm 327 dongle and your iOS device. do not confuse with the wifi internet connection from your router inside your home which does not play any part in using the app.

I didn't realize that I needed to edit the settings via the MMI as well to get the remote windows up/down feature to work. Works now
