Since you have a B8 you can do this through the hidden menu in the MMI. Enable the hidden menu via Carista and then check the stickied VCDS thread for the settings in there to change. A new item will show up under the Car menu to show the battery charge level.

The battery percentage always shows as 100% so it doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose.

Yeah. Got this one working but was more looking for the feature that tells you the health of the battery.

Really? That's lame if true. The battery in my car is fairly new, so I wasn't surprised to see it at 100%.

The wink and roll down windows are in the Pro version. 100% LED needs security access and todor hasn't given a definitive answer on whether or not it will be available.

    Wink:

Turn off daytime running lights ("wink") when turn signal is on
    YES / NO

Roll-down windows with key fob is more involved. You have to set these settings:

Enable settings for opening/closing windows and sunroof
    YES / NO

Open/close windows and sunroof via long-press on remote
    YES / NO

Open windows via long-press on remote
    YES / NO

Open sunroof via long-press on remote
    YES / NO

Open/close windows and sunroof via smart key
    YES / NO

Then, after you restart the car, the MMI will display a new section under "Car > Windows" (for B8) or "Settings > Central Locking" (for B8.5). Enable the settings in there.

I have seen on the board that with certain OBDII dongles the app will only read/allow certain menus/functions based on how well it connected to the OBDII dongle. It shouldn't take you 15 minutes to connect or read the car (five minutes at most) which could mean that it is having trouble communicating with your OBDII dongle. Might want to send a trouble report to Carista to see what they say (verify the report via email with them - they are good about answering back)

I troubleshooted mine a bit. Pressed the start/stop switch twice without ignition, still took a damn long time to connect. Did it again (made it 4 in total), and it was connected pretty quick. Maybe there really is a method of the order

maybe I get confused when people say push button twice. so I unlock my car. I get my fat ass in. put key in ( is that considered a push?) key in turns on some electronics, pushing it enables the needle to swap, radio to come on, ignition on, and engine is off. is that the 2nd push? or is there another one after that?

That would be second push for you. I used the key at first with mine and it was two pushes.

I believe even with beta, u still need to go pro to have unlimited features, vs pay per use. beta just allows you to have more options than the standard release. that's to my understanding at least

that's how I see it, besides the beta features, which you would sign up for. unless u have something wrong going on, and limited to options like me

I dled the app, and paid for the pro version right away, but do not see the same options as others here claim. might be a fault with my dongle. still troubleshooting it

I tried the dongle on another car today. It has more options than mine, and connected a bit faster, but still does not have all the options everyone else does

New dongle came so im gonna try that out

    tried new dongle, same thing.

tried it on another car, he had even less options than me at the first run, reconnected and he had a bit more, reconnected again and it was less. seemed the options were different every time we connected. im waiting for doug to send me the same dongle that he has, which is identical to mine, to see if its actually the dongle itself, or something else.

Is it possible to do this?

    - Fog lights on during the day with DRL's
    - Disable amber corner lights next to headlights

    If so, how?

Most of the entries are cryptic with no in depth explanation.

    Thanks.

Huge shout out for Todor and Carista's customer service! I've been tearing up rotors and pads on the track and it was time to replace the rear pads and rotors.

I have the Pro version and the Carista dongle. Last night around midnight sent an email to get included in beta testing so that I could try out the Parking Brake release. Got up this morning (Saturday!) with an email from Todor and I was good to go for trial purchases.

What I thought was an intimidating job was easy. Ignition on, motor off. Connect the app to the dongle and release the parking brake. Turn off the radio and anything else off so you can hear the motor unwinding for service position.

Wheel off, loosen the two 13mm bolts behind the caliper part that holds the pads. Leave the outer caliper bracket on. Pads should slide out of the clips easily. I also loosened the T30 star screw to swap out the rotors. Rotors came off fine without having to remove the larger caliper bracket.

Then you'll need a piston pusher tool like as seen below. I found mine at O'riellys for $9. Worked great to ease the piston back. You'll need to push it all the way back in if you have new pads for clearance.

Tip 1 - to get the caliper back in with new pads inserted, I needed just a little more slack in my brake line. There's a release of a rubber grommet on the brake line that secures it that gives you this extra length to get the caliper back over the rotor. Remember to reattach it!

Tip 2 - my Audi tech also suggested that I check the wheel speed sensor for any metal shavings that it's designed to pick up. It's found at the 4 o'clock position on the left rear wheel, behind the rotor and opposite for the other side. The wire unclips with a small flathead and then unscrew it with a 5mm Allen wrench. There's a magnetic pin that will slide out and you'll see some shavings that it caught. Wipe those off on a paper towel and reinsert and reattach the wire.

Reassemble it all, using some Locktite on the 13mm bolts. Then back to the app for Parking Brake closure. Worked great!

Only beta feedback I have is that I'd rather not pay $10 every time I have to do this once it's in full release. As I track often and swap out pads as needed. That pay-per-use might suck if it's the business model. For now it's exactly what I needed. Thanks again Carista!

Today I successfully used the electronic parking brake feature to swap out my rear pads and rotors. The feature worked perfectly with no issues at all. It's super easy to use - there's one button that says open and one button that says close.

After completing the job, i scanned the car for any fault codes. There was one fault code relating to the parking brake (code 00473). I made sure that the parking brake did in fact work without issue, which it did. I then bedded my brakes and cleared the fault code. Scanned one more time later in the day and it hasn't populated again. Everything appears to be good.

One thing i'll note, which isn't carista-related, is that a C-Clamp didn't do the trick for me to compress the piston (the DIY i was following stated that a C-Clamp should work). I'm glad i happened to have a caliper compression tool handy. I'd recommend having one available before getting started http://www.ecstuning.com/ES8211/

Did you just submit your email on the website, or did you email the support email address? If you haven't tried the latter option, i'd give it a shot. Todor responded pretty quickly when i emailed to get added. [email protected]

You must first set "Allow configuring footwell lights" to YES in Carista, before enabling front or rear footwell lights. If you've already done that, then there may be some settings you need to enable in the MMI, but generally those are not necessary just to get the footwell lights to work at all.

Todor, can you please confirm this? If it's supposed to be in the version that I have, then I need to submit a bug report because it's not showing up. Thank you!
Correct, there was no beta 3 for iOS, sorry about the confusion. We've just released beta 4 for both platforms and it has a tweak that will hopefully improve the auto gear display option.

For the record, the version numbers for iOS are large numbers, but the last 3 digits are the beta number (e.g. 252004 means version 2.5.2, beta-4).

In other news, beta-4 also includes EPB release for B8.5 (2013+) models! Please try it and let us know how it goes. If anything at all doesn't work as expected, please use the "Report a problem" item from the slide-out menu for in an error message to send a report. These reports are of huge help to us! Thanks :)

    Todor,
The beta notes mentions TPMS. Is this configurable for audi now?
    Thanks!

    update***

    tried new dongle, same thing.

tried it on another car, he had even less options than me at the first run, reconnected and he had a bit more, reconnected again and it was less. seemed the options were different every time we connected. im waiting for doug to send me the same dongle that he has, which is identical to mine, to see if its actually the dongle itself, or something else.
Replied to you by email. Looks like the connection to the OBD port is bad now (as per your latest report).

In about 2 weeks (but this official release won't contain the EPB and service reset functionality yet, as they're not fully done and tested).

But actually, the current iOS beta is kind of closed, i.e. we're removing the TOOLS in order to test the actual release version.

Not for Audi yet, just for Toyota/Lexus/Scion.
What TPMS functionality would be useful for Audis?

TPMS on B8/8.5 uses anti-lock sensors, not physical sensors in the wheels. It's turned on via MMI hidden menu but you need to enable/check a few things with VAGCOM before it will work. I've successfully enabled TPMS to show in the MMI, but it's not enabled.

I can forward a few posts about it if needed.

    Thanks!

been posting back and fourth here and the a4 section, don't know which to stick to lol. my latest findings ( and complete timeline of problems) is in there. ill repost here:

    - bought dongle off amazon that people recommended
-bought pro version of carista app
-dongle connects to carista app painfully slow, and limited options
-amazon sends me a second dongle. same thing
    - a buddy sends me the dongle that works for him 100%
-tried the dongle for one day, worked perfectly
-tried it the next day, does not connect
-tried it on a different car, but same make and model, still does not connect

so im thinking, does the ECU or app, in anyway, stop the dongle from working? or do I just have bad luck that the dongle just keeps dying on me?

I also sent you a video of my process and I don't believe I am doing it incorrectly. others have confirmed that that was the method they used and worked, and also the owner of the "working" dongle said that's his procedure as well. does not work for me . it connect from 1%, 2%, 3%, jumps to 5% and then asks me to select make and model and then says unsupported or ignition is not on ( wifi dongle lights are flashing while this is all happening ). any ideas?

with that said, if you are doing the group buy for the carista dongle for 35$ shipped, ill be down just to get it over with. right now the app is useless to me after trying 3 different dongles, when one of them worked perfectly for another person, and does not for me.
