I would like to have a setting for a 5 flash lane change. I find three too short when you're trying to change into an opening and want to give someone enough warning.

    Thank you,

There's a setting about keeping the LEDs at full brightness when the light switch is in the first position (parking lights). At that point, the headlights are not on, but the fogs can be on. I don't have a B8 here to try this, but I think it should work. The behavior may also be different based on whether you have the LED DRLs or the CCFL ones. If you're interested in trying this, I can give you a 14-day free trial of the app. You'd still need the hardware if you don't have it already. PM me for more info.

That's not configurable on the B8, sorry.

    couple notes

    - on the ambient lighting menu, each time i access it after starting the car in the morning, the dial sweeps back to the lowest setting.
    - the wink disable isnt working for me, each time i try to save it an error pops up.

That's weird, it should be there. Just to confirm: your ignition was on, but engine not running, right? Also, it's best to open TOOLS with the parking brake disengaged.

If it still doesn't show up, open the slide-out menu from the left and use "Report a problem". Then I'll be able to see why it's not showing up. Thanks.

Yes, ignition was on, not running, and parking brake was disengaged.

I sent it. Hope you guys can help me out soon! Have others with a 2013 MY been able to use it? I'll have to pay for my brakes this week if I can't figure it out :(

No, sorry, we've always only supported iOS 8 since the launch of our iOS app in the beginning of this year. We found the share of iOS 7 users was already very small then and is even smaller now, and dwindling. I understand that people have their reasons for not upgrading, but we've decide that it's not worth the engineering time/effort to support this small market share, and our time is better used toward developing new features.

I just emailed carrots support, but, I figured it might do some good to drop a note in here as well. Everything is operating quite well! I am happy to be a part of the beta testing for this as well.

Something I would have a suggestion on, if it hasn't been mentioned already, I recently went to email my current settings. The only option is to use the stock mail app on iOS. I don't use that (use CloudMagic instead). It would be nice to be able to use something other than the stock mail app to export your settings.

Just food for thought! keep up the great work!

We're aware of this issue, but as far as we know, iOS doesn't offer a way to pick a mail app. Do you know if any other apps on iOS that offer this ability?

I'm not an iOS developer, but I believe that with iOS 8 apps can now add themselves to the iPhone share sheet. So, you could have a "share" button in Carista and then the user can select any app they wish. As long as that app is in the share sheet Carista can send the content to it. I can send web pages from Safari to the gmail app and pictures from the camera roll to gmail, etc.

    Todor,

I enabled the Oil temp screen from the beta. Sometimes if I rev it out when the car is ~150 degrees, I get the EPC light and warning saying "Do not exceed maximum engine speed of 4,000rpm"

    Are these related?

Something else I just thought of. I was reading through the forums and noticed that our cars may or may not need to have a coding applied after changing the battery. There are ways to do this through VCDS. Maybe Carista can eventually do this as well? It would save some folks a trip to the stealer.

This thread on AudiForums discusses: http://www.audiforums.com/forum/b8-m...2/#post1430403

As you rightly said i believe that my car has been stuck in power saving mode, and hadn't learnt about the new battery.

    This is how i fixed it for any poor souls who are still trying;

    1. Viewed the state of the battery in VCDS under 19-CAN gateway > Measuring Blocks > Groups 18,19 and 20

    2. Noticed that the battery state of charge was healthy at 77%, but the battery state in MMI was at 10%. This value did not change which explains why the low battery warning was always displayed. After monitoring for 15 minutes with the ignition on, the state of charge was increasing, but the MMI display information did not alter.

    3. I viewed the current BEM code in VCDS under 19-CAN Gateway _> Long Adaptation -> Channel 4 -> Battery identification). The code that was stored here was different to the BEM on the battery, so i knew that it hadn't been applied.

    4. I applied the BEM code in the following manner - Part number i kept the same as before, then entered the new information as follows;

    - (N) Part number - (11 digits) - kept this the same as the previous battery.
    - (V) Vendor code - (3 digits) - in my case VA0 for Varta
    - (S) Serial number (10 digits, but leaving out the starting 3 digits of manufacturer)

    NNNNNNNNNNN VVV SSSSSSSSSS

    5. Restarted the car, and behold, the MMI battery state was at 100%!

Battery is charging fine, and the car is now out of power saving mode and running perfectly!

I think the rule of thumb here is that if the battery is replaced before the car goes into power saving mode, then it will probably learn about the new battery itself. If the 10% MMI state has been reached, then it will need coding.

Important to note that this battery was an Audi OEM, hence the BEM code being visible on it - so anybody who is thinking of doing a battery change themselves, i would suggest spending a bit more and using an OEM to be sure.

I don't think they're related... you can try turning the oil temp off to see if that message doesn't appear anymore under the same conditions. Is your car a diesel? 4k RPM seems pretty low for a limit...

I think I saw your report (tinlac?). If so, it's what I thought - no connection to the parking brake ECU. We've seen that on other cars too, and we're investigating. That's kind of the point of beta-testing :) I'll keep this thread posted.

I have another thread going to try and find out what's going on, but just wanted to make sure...I'll turn it off just in case.

I'm assuming it's possible to reset everything back to default settings on the car? If not, I can change them back to what they were.

Cool, looks like a lot of fun! I still think your sync is off. You need less video delay. Try with something like 1.5sec, or even 1sec :) I assume that's just a quick setting you can try in the app and see how it looks? And finally, the loud engine noise in the video is from another car around you, right? Yours sounds more like a stock exhaust?

The app currently doesn't offer a "reset to defaults" functionality, but what you can do is email yourself the list of your current values at any point. We recommend doing that in the beginning, just so you have a "baseline" in case you forget what you've changed.

You're hearing that loud ass antique 914 in the video! I've got AWE exhaust but you can't really hear it over that pumpkin-looking Porsche until the end. Throttle response looks about right to me, as do the RPMs. I'm guessing it's the phone that's picking up the G's.

^^ I had to set-up a google pay account, unstall the app, and then reinstall the app using google play. After that, it gave me the option on the upper left (those three line marks next to the Carista logo) to purchase a pro version (I think? It's been a week, i can't remember lol)

Actually, you can't buy the Pro Package without connecting to the car first. I assume you won't have an internet connection where your car is? Just go into CUSTOMIZE, open some random setting, then stay on that screen and walk back home where you have internet access. Press SAVE. Go through the purchase process via Google Play. The app will then attempt to connect to the car and change the setting, and obviously fail, since the car is not there. But that's fine, you'll already own the Pro Package and now you can change customizations and do diagnostics as much as you want without being connected to the internet.

P.S. Did you get an Android just in order to use Carista? Carista is also available for iPhone, you know... :) (and the official Carista OBD adapter is compatible with both platforms)

Hey todor, I have an issue with an inconsistent fault code between your app and the reader at the dealership. You can read my P190A post for more info. Short story, your app said my car was throwing that code but the dealership found P164B00 instead. Thoughts? I am on newest IOS and non-carista wifi dongle, however dashcommand app has no issue reading from it.

Carista app for iOS beta testing [wrench]

I'm not showing a "Tools" selection on my Carista app. I've paid for the pro version and I can only check faults and customize. It'd be nice to reset service inspection when the time comes. iOS version.

That would explain it. I'm assuming only a certain bunch of people are on Beta?

Another nice feature to look into for the tools section Todor would be the ability to see what % the battery is in the car. You can vagcom to see the life remaining on the battery so it should hopefully be possible on Carista.
