    Alternator problem

Hey. I got a Seat Leon 2001 4x4 with a non charging alternator. The car has driven 100k km and i think it is a bit early for the alternator to go faulty.
I tried changing the voltage regulator with a new one, that did not help. It makes no noise... What else can go wrong with these alternators?

Are there anyhing i should look for or check?

Check to make sure it free wheels in one direction and spins the armature the other.

I've seen one that wouldn't spin the armature. Other than that, you can get into a bit of checking the internals like the coil resistances and brush contacts.
