Any Billy Boat reviews/clips yet?

Billy Boat S3 turboback. I hope I haven't missed this in my search of the forums and interwebz. Has anyone seen videos of the exhaust or reviews from owners?

I have a tough time with 3 grand for a 4 cylinder full exhaust. This is a much more reasonable option for around 1650.00. Vendors? Any vids?

Not the full turbo-back, but that's APR Stage 2 and the Billy Boat catted downpipe to the stock cat-back (which is almost more like an axle-back after the downpipe is installed), 0-100 vid is with the windows rolled up, 40-80 is with the windows cracked open. It added a lot of sound to the stock cat-back in a really good way IMO, no drone, no rasp.

In that thread, the first picture with the foreground S3 on the lift (with blacked out wheels), he's got the turbo-back Billy Boat system and supposedly really enjoys it according to the guy at the shop. I heard it and it sounds good, especially at idle in sport mode, but it's a little too much for me personally, it screams at full throttle. Billy Boat is based about 15 minutes from my house, so my tuning shop sells their systems like hotcakes, I think it's a great bang for the buck.

I don't mind some noise, but I'm not a fan of most loud 4 cyl exhausts. I've had some fairly loud v6-v8's and the soundtrack never bothered me.

If you get a chance and see one of these guys with the full system please grab a video. :) If I don't see any pop up soon I may just have to be the guinea pig. The price is great compared to the competition.

We don't have any S3 specific ones right now but BB systems overall for us are pretty popular. Difference in quality of BB vs some others is noticeable when you see them side by side.

the quad tip is dual tips with an extra tip welded on per side, a cheater quad if you will.

I was the prototype car used by B&B as they are local to me for my A3 2.0T quattro (with quad tip) and have now moved that system over to my S3. I cannot rave enough about how good the system sounds in the entire RPM range and how quiet and perfect it is while driving at highway speeds. IMO it's the best overall sounding exhaust i've ever had on a car.

I helped my buddy install a BB system on his B8 A4. It was barely louder than stock. His brother also switched from BB to Milltek on his Golf R due to the lack of aggressive sound. The quality looked pretty good on both systems I saw, they just weren't very loud.

Did he not install the downpipe that comes with the system? I have a BB system on my B8 A4 and it's absolutely and noticeably louder than the OEM exhaust system. Inside the car it's a little bit louder than OEM but the car is pretty well insulated so you don't get a ton of sound in cabin. No drone or excessive noise at highway speeds either. I love the look of the system too with it's dual large single outlet tips as opposed to quad tips.

If you're looking for noise you could certainly find something louder. For me though the BB system is the perfect blend of noise, performance, quality, and price.

Ah that makes sense then. The OEM down pipe and cat are so restrictive and muffling. My BB system included the DP and it definitely has a substantial bark to it vs the OEM setup. It got even more noticeable once I installed the 034 hi-flow cat.

Yea downpipe is gonna make loads of a difference. Although we ran just a catback on our S3 here and tone was awesome with just the Remus system we had on it

I've had the B & B full exhaust on my Z06 and was highly impressed in the quality and sound for the $$. Not wanting to get a valved system since I don't like the extra weight and I usually disable the valve on any car that has them...

Overall I love it, the build quality is top notch, I love the sound. Its not to overbearing which was what I was going for. I recently spoke with Mike and Billy Boat about converting over to the quad tips and they gave me a really good deal for the conversion. So that should be arriving this week. Aside from the quad tip, I also had them powder coat the tips matte black.
