Has anyone changed the coding to enable fog lamps with high beams, key fob windows down, etc? Thanks for the help!

That's all standard procedure. The VCDS wiki for the Q7 should provide what you need.

Thanks for your response.. I am also looking to see if the MMI can be used as a DVD player while in motion. Is that via VCDS as well?

Yes, there is a program to generate the code to unlock video in motion using VCDS as well. I have not done it, but it is supposed to work on all Audi setups.

Is there a specific list of possible VAG codes for the Q7?

Has anyone had any luck with changing fog lights to act as cornering lights?

On my Q7 the cornering lights are built into the headlights but i do have the full adaptive light package.

Same with mine but wanted to add the fogs as additional cornering lights. I know it's not really "needed", but I like the look. I think there's a way to code it where they come on with the turn signal.

Is there a way to code to get the foglights to stay on with the high beams?
My in laws live out in the country and it would be nice to have the range of the brights with the added light of the foglights when driving on those dark country roads.
Looking at the codes from Ross-Tech, I'm not sure if thats possible.

Yup... you want one of the non-USA codes. I think they call it Rest of World, or something like that. The specific one you should pick depends on what you actually want the Q7 to do. They each behave a little differently. I'm running one that turns on the DRLs in the front, running lights in the rear, and leaves the fogs on during high-beam use. I have unfortunately forgotten which one it is. I recommend trying each of the options VCDS gives you.

Quick question? I found what I needed last night and made the change, but after clicking Do It, I got an error that read, code rejected or something similiar. But the code saved and what I wanted is working. But I've never seen this error before. Anyone know what it meant?
Also, I noticed when I was making the changes, the light on the cable was flashing between green and red. Not sure if this was related or not?

I just had that error show up with mine as well but somehow the code stuck after saving. Thanks for sharing.

I would start by making sure you have the latest build of VCDS from Ross-Tech, and a real Ross-Tech cable. Anything short of official stuff, and you're off the map in terms of support. If you are still seeing problems at that point, email Ross-Tech and they will walk you thru figuring out what the problem is. Some codes are in fact not legal on certain control modules. They will be able to take a scan from your vehicle (they will tell you how to generate it) and tell you what they know about the module(s) you have.

Cable is from Ross-Tech. I dont even think it will let me do anything, if I dont have the latest software on my PC. I get an error as soon as the cable is plugged in. It let me do everything, it just flashed red/green when I was in the 09 Central Electronics Module. I was able to do some changes on my S4 rigth after I had this problem. I'll keep an eye on it and see if happens again.
    Thanks

Thanks. I'll just chalk it up to VCDS/cable glitch.

I had some problems with certain models when I first got my 2013 Q7. I worked with Ross-Tech and they released software updates to address it. I highly suggest getting with them.

I've used a Ross - Tech cable and VCDS many times on my 2013 S4 and Mom's 2013 Q5 but ran in to issues on my Dad's Q7. I was able to enable VIM, Lap timer, and Hidden Menu on his but the two he really wanted didn't seem to work. It's like the modules/codes are not in the same location in his computer as our 2013s. What are the locations/codes for "windows up/down with remote" and "display current gear in DIS"? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question Help - tried new codes now have headlights out!

Tried coding to change to nordic and got an error (error 78) and it said that the change was rejected, but it kept the setting that was entered. Shortly thetreafter, got a bulb out warning in the DIS x2 (one for each main beam). Did a scan and found the following faults:

Funny thing is, in Auto mode the main beams work OK. Moving the headlight switch to manually the next setting causes them to go out (or are they supposed to in the parking position??). Finally, moving to the position where you can also turn on fogs and the main beams come back on OK.

Is it a problem with the coding or the module? After clearing the codes, the faults came back. Cleared again and Went back to the original setting 0139123, but faults returned again.

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

My original value was 0139123 but when I tried to change back it gave the same error msg. It looks like an implausible value in the third spot from left, but that's what my last known good value was. I bought the vehicle used so not sure what the previous owner may have done, but that was the value I had before.

    Thanks for helping.
