There are plenty 3mm 57.1 hubcentric 5x112 spacers on ebay for like $19 per pair. I have some blue ones that I use to change the front/rear width at the track. Put it on the front for more steering, rear for less steering. And if you use 3mm spacers, you won't necessarily need to get longer bolts either.

Couldn't post pics so made a video. Installed AG M580's 19x9.5 40 mm offset with Michellin Pilot SS 255/30/19 and HR Super Sport Springs. Slight rub in the rear. Next tires will be Nitto INVO as they run thinner than the Michellens.

I agree. I think that 19x9.5 et40 is a sweet spot for this platform. It allows a large number on tire sizes and ride heights while being pretty flush at all of them.

20x10 is toofar out of range for the A3/S3. The Max you can go on the outside is 9.5 +40, 235 tires stretched. The Max you can go on the inside is 9.5 +45 with 235 tires stretched. with a 20x10, you are 6.35mm wider in both directions, so you are out of the 5mm buffer zone where it clears both inside & outside. If you insist on a 10" wide rim with +55 offset, you will need a 16mm spacer to clear the inside, and will be about 20mm poke on the outside. Even rolling the fender won't help you at that point.

Thanks for the measurements. Looks like this car went with a 10" rear setup (although they are 19's and +36). I wonder if any fender work was done and if the front has as much space as the back.

That car I believe is from Vossen Japan, and from what I understand, they had to do major fender pull, even to fit skinny stretched tires in the back. Just look at how much the edge of the rear fender was pulled(angled) out versus the front...

You're numbers are based on front fitment right?

The +45 for the 9.5 wide would be cutting it really close to strut in the front but completely depends on suspension, amount of drop and diameter of the wheel. I would think 18x9.5s et45 would be relatively safe with a decent drop. But my 19x9.5 et40 would probably rub on the strut collars if it was in any further.

I imagine 20x10 et34/35 would be all you could really fit with the needed amount of drop to make it look decent. Thats doesn't take into account the fact that it would stick out almost 13mm more than 19x9.5 et40s. No amount of rolling would be able to make it work. At that point you are looking at pulling the fenders or running very heavy camber with a pretty hard fender roll.

I can't really talk about rear fitment though. I never really got under the rear to check strut spacing since I never intended to run a staggered setup. Normally though the rears offer better space for wider wheels and can be taken to the extreme since you're not having to deal with the wheels turning.

Actually, all my measurements were done on stock non magride struts/shocks, with H&R Supersport springs. For the front, due to the angle of the strut, you can go a little higher offset with larger diameter rims. The most I could get without rubbing was 19x9.5 +45 in the front. 20x9.5 might allow upto +47 maybe. For the rear, surprisingly, you CAN NOT go any further in than the front, due to a plastic dust cover thingy over the rear shock. So, the inside clearance is about the same as front, but you can go a little further out than the front without rubbing, but not enough to go 10" wide rims. I went out as far as 19x9.5 +40, and it just barely rubs on full compression. Hence my min/max at 9.5" +40 to +45 squared for our cars. Of course the width of the tires will have a HUGE factor in rubbing vs not rubbing too!

Bringing this back from a bit of the dead! This isn't the most aggressive fitment on here, but for a daily driver like mine it's perfect.

Volk Racing G25 19x8.5 +38, Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 245/35/19, on H&R Sport springs. Nice and square setup with zero rubbing whatsoever.

I ended up getting the VMR V710s 18x8.5 57.1 centerbore 5x112 +45 offset in gunmetal

I do have a problem though. I have 3mm spacers in the front and 8mm spacers in the rear and I am getting vibrations when getting to 55+mph. The spacers from both from ecs and I know they don't have that hub centric piece that sticks out cause it should fit the hub already. When I was having them installed the tech did ask if I had a hub centric ring cause he told me they weren't hub centric. The wheels are balanced and the lugs and not loose. So question is which hub centric ring can I use? I have 10mm(front) and 15mm(rear) spacers from my oem wheel setup, could I use those without having rubbing issues? Or what other solutions are there?

    Thank you much in advance.

If it doesn't still vibrate, then re-install the spacers, sanding off any rust on the hubs, cleaning the wheels, use some anti-seize, and torque the bolts a little at a time in a star pattern. If it still vibrates, its probably the spacers.
It needed up just being the rear 8mm spacers there wasn't enough hub left for the wheel to catch on. I put in my 10mm hubcentric spacers and no more vibrations.

    Hi guys,

Been a while since Ive been on the forum. Thanks to OP for starting up this thread...I feel quite chuffed that my S3 was used for comparison sake :)

    I have since changed my wheels from 20 x 8.5 ET40 BBS CH-R (with 10mm spacers) to a set of BBS CI-R 20 x 8.5 ET32. I'm really after a concave set up and am wondering if I can get away with a 20 x 9.5 ET40 set up and hopefully concave...

Some pics of the car as she is now...

This is correct. I actually got the chance to see this in person last year in Japan (we had a Vossen Owner's Meet during a Typhoon, wasn't the best day lol) and it was perfect. So clean, the dual concave 19x10s looked insane on it.

    Hi dude

    Will this set up work:

    20 x 9.5 ET47 front

    20 x 9.5 ET40 rear

Or can I just go with ET40 front and rear?

Hey Rabbit222, 20x9.5 +40 will work front & rear without rubbing on the inside. It should also work without rubbing on the outside as long as you stretch 225 or 235/30/20 tires, but I think it'll poke just a little on the front. I ran 255/35/19 on 19x9.5 rims, which is much taller than your 235/30/20(26.1" vs 25.6"), so I think you are safe. But If you want to play it safe, I would get between +42 and +45 all the way around and use spacers to bring it out until it rubs and then back off 1mm.

    Cheers.

We've found that 19x9.5 +40 with 235/35/19 works perfectly as a semi-aggressive fit with a drop and slight stretch on the tires.

Heres a set of M580s in Satin Machined Silver we just did on our customer's car.

Hes already off these wheels and onto AG M510s, I should have those photos ready soon as well!

We did some measurements and calculations, if you go with custom offsets from AG, we can fit 19x9.5 +45 with a 245/35, and possibly even a 255/30!
