Its unfortunate but the 2.0TFSI engines had a lot of issues with piston rings. I know my engine was shot in my 2009 A4 without being tuned. If you look up the class action lawsuit it claims 126,000 engines were potentially running crap pistons/rings.

You also mentioned they found a bad fuel injector before you were chipped and this may have been the cause. You mentioned your car was out of warranty. Did they cover you under "goodwill" or because they admitted to a bad fuel injector prior to the tune? Just curious. It also seems like you were aware that you may lose your warranty as per your post above that states Audi even sent you a letter stating such. Not trying to be harsh but if you install a performance enhancing modification, it would be reasonable to assume a drivetrain item may not be covered. Im really surprised yours was actually but it sounds like it was a good thing you had a documented bad injector prior to the tune.

They covered under the drivetrain warranty. I chipped my around 56-57k miles I figured I was out of warranty and was aware of it. It's just mind blowing to me that a 2012 with 60k needing a new motor. It turns out it wasn't the fuel injectors. Like I stated, apr was maybe the last straw and if I would tuned it again, no.
