@mr shickadance, I've donated. Not sure what to start and will likely throw more in if it's necessary. I would also start a new thread for this too, like you said, spread it all around.

I started a new thread in the chatterbox, I was not sure if the b8 section was appropriate or not, but it will have less chance of being removed in the chatterbox.

If the mods want to move it to the b8 section they absolutely can.

You could always ship the exhaust to the donor who throws in the most? Just need it TIG welded back together. Would be a chance for someone to pick up an exhaust on the cheap...

I would consider that, it really would come down to the shipping costs and if the member wanted it or not I think. I am more than happy to oblige but I don't think it would be fair to myself to pick up the shipping cost for sending out the exhaust so I am certainly open to that idea tho.

In for this too. Just so happens I have the necessary resources to put it back together, provided it's not mangled while investigating the internals.

i can donate my exhaust to be cut open and then re-sealed. I just need to find someone that will tig weld it back for me in the area. I was already planning to cut it open to fix my rattles inside.

a member has PM'd me regarding an exhaust purchase as well. I would not mean to start a price bidding war against you two, but I think it would absolutely come down to the cheapest price (including shipping)

Also in fairness to the community, I would want to be posting the PM's sent to me regarding this as well so the community knows

Yeah, I think that would surely start a bidding war. I wouldn't want to cause any hard feelings towards anyone for that either. Maybe give the highest donation first crack at buying it (for your time spent)? There are quite a few stipulations that would stem. Afterall, we are all going after the results. Cheers.

oh i am sorry I don't think I was clear. The exhaust purchase would be made towards obtaining the apr exhaust to be cut. I believe Ink was asking about donating his exhaust, and I have another member who wants to sell me their APR exhaust to be used. In that situation I think it would be a price war between the two members towards who could sell it to me for the cheapest.


As I think about it more, I am more reluctant to offer the exhaust to the highest paying member for a few reasons.

1) If I put that stipulation that the person who donates the most keeps the exhaust than I feel like we would absolutely HAVE to obtain a new exhaust. A used exhaust, cut open and welded back together would someone even want that?

2) as a realist, what if we do not raise enough capital towards getting an exhaust then the person who donated the most gets nothing? I mean I would be ok with that logic personally, but maybe that member could feel burned I don't know.

Again, I am absolutely open to these ideas, but I would like to make sure I am doing everything I can to benefit the community and cause as little backlash as possible.

I got what you are saying now, I misunderstood. Furthermore, new ideas and whatnot will be sure to show up. I'm sure to have a few more as well.
