    enjoy, not exactly RSC here.

I also see no fiberglass packing, but at 4 years old I would imagine that stuff is all gone.

thats marketing materials.... it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that marketing exaggerated what rsc looks like in order to give a better understanding of the technology

You don't see a problem with being lied too by apr/arin? I have the exhaust on my car, yeah it's ok doesn't drone. Don't make any power either. But I don't like being lied too. Especially by some hicks from Alabama.

a huge part of the advertising though has been that this exhaust is different because it allows for total free flowing exhaust. those hemholtz chambers (the rsc picture stuff) was touted as "this is where the sound goes, and the exhaust passes right through"

further, there are comparison pics which show cut exhausts that look very similar to the one just recently posted as "BAD" and the rsc one as "GOOD"

so really it's lying across all of the aspects here.

i mean if that doesn't bother you, that's ok, i guess you could consider clicking on another thread to occupy your time but I feel differently.

Props for actually cutting your open to see what was inside. Looks like there were several leaks by all of the stains, split welds and dents. I am on a stock exhaust still, helps push me towards Miltek. I was already leaning that way but this shure helps. I appreciate what you did for the forum and its members.

Also why does yours look different then those originally posted? Was APR taken for a ride by its supplier?

Are there more pics? I was on the fence about this whole fiasco but those look like regular helmholtz resonators, which would make this situation pretty bad.

this was what the member sent me, i figured these would be enough pics of the exhausts i think theres like 40 of them.

whats crazy to me is on the end mufflers its just completely open, like I could take a golf ball and just completely fuck over someone with an APR exhaust if I wanted to.

Yea for the quality there should be no reason the weld broke on one muffler, especially with a lifetime warranty. Also the front resonators should not be showing any signs of leaks around the welds but they do. The bottom of the center red and exhaust are dirty cause they drill a small drain hole on the bottoms.

There was no packing inside the resonator or mufflers that were cut open. What you see is what you see.

The muffler with the cracked weld was also a warranty replace my from a previous one that rattled. This exhaust has close to 80k on it.

Out of curiosity what were you expecting when you purchased your APR exhaust?

Did you see one open before you bought yours and if so does yours look different? I have never seen APR or any of these B8 exhaust vendors advertising an open exhaust.

look at their advertisement on apr's webpage, I would have expected something similar to what was advertised. the closest thing I could think of as an example would be a titleist ProV1 golfball.

for those who do not play the game, the ProV1 is considered the top tier, best golf ball made.

included on the box, and in almost every ProV1 advertisement, there is a cross section of the golf ball. (reference)

now, when you play enough golf you are bound to see a few balls that have met their maker via a lawn mower and look like this (reference)

more of less (coloring wise) you get what you are paying the premium for. if you want, you can go ahead and do the test yourself (these balls are rather pricey tho) but the point is, when you are advertised product A, and receive product B deception is a pretty normal feeling.

to answer your question, if I had purchased an APR exhaust I would have expected what was advertised to me. infact, it those pictures would be what I would base my decision on as it appears to seem reasonable that the RSC tech would work at keeping an exhaust quiet when needed.

Not to drone. Which is doesn't drone. It's just the fact that apr said it one thing buts it's another. Don't you think you should get what you pay for? I paid for the bells and whistles that come with the RSC tech and damn it I should get them.

    It's a complex situation.

I understand your frustration, but here's some perspective.

In your golf ball analogy the company advertised the cross section, you pay the premium and it does whatever it is golf balls do that make these worth more money LOL....but then one day you cut it open and find that it's not that color, but another color, and made of cabbage or something.

Does that change how it worked?

Did you pay for the purple.....or for the performance?

Same issue here......APR offered an exhaust that didn't drone....they claimed it did this with stock photos and ad material that implied very strongly that contained complex channels and baffles.

It seems that many agree there is no drone......but it doesn't have complex baffles in it.

Did you pay for the baffles or the performance?

Ultimatly, the product does what it says.....outside of the mufflers being stuffed with dead cats and puppies, it really doesn't MATTER what is inside, it does what it says. The argument that a premium was paid for the baffles requires that there are cheaper exhausts that also have no drone....AND.....that you go to bars and pick up chicks by talking about the baffles inside your muffler that no one can see. :D

If there are 2 products that do the same thing and someone pays extra for something no one can ever see......well........not much sympathy. And if there is no other product that does what this one does.....than the premium price was paid for a one of a kind product, regardless of hw it is assembled.

    Now, ALL that said..................

APR once again shows they need to get their heads around community interaction and customer relations. They wait too long to get involved in something letting the angers and rumors gain momenteum, then when they do they try to dismiss instead of address and usually come off as arrogant or abusive (even if that's not their intent).

If they were REALLY duped by Corsa, they should still stand behind what they sold, and deal with Corsa. If they knew the difference in the beginning....then that should have been the FIRST response and apologies issued for miscommunication and misunderstandings. Sure, it wasn't their product, they repackaged it and that should be taken into consideration.......BUT.......they sold it......so it's still their responsibility to handle their customers.

I get what you're saying. My post wasn't serious. The exhaust doesnt drone. Sounds ok, you and I both know there's not much performance to be gained off these over priced exhausts anyways. I just don't like how they had it advertised as something its not. Why go to the extent of saying its something so high tech and blah blah when it's not.

I'll repeat what others have said in this thread because I think it's spot on; this situation is akin to thinking you are buying a diamond but instead getting a cubic zirconia. It looks the same from the outside... has the intended sparkle and shine but really only is evident under close inspection. When APR advertises RSC tech on their products(not to mention NASA technology, lol) it becomes their burden for this to be true. In all things buyer beware, but when they are found out I think everyone is in the right to be upset!

This is what I still don't get. Everybody keeps saying that APR offered you all something that you didn't get. Can you say what something is?

for example say false advertising because APR advertised a 4" exhaust but the exhaust is only a 3.5" exhaust. Something specific so that it does not sound like speculations. Why is this exhaust a false advertising?

Did you read the whole thread? Did you happen to see the pictures apr posted of "RSC technology" there's a very big difference between what they say is inside the muffler vs what's actually inside of them. That's the problem. But you keep asking the same questions so you must have not read it.

Meaning, this has been covered several times in this thread. Either you didn't bother to read much of this thread before weighing in and asking questions that have already been answered, or you don't understand the answers given. Either way, you should stop asking. The answers are there if you're willing to look.

It is so obvious that you can't easily just say it. Speculations that is all you have.

Here. Are you all saying this company is also false advertising "something" http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/techn...nrsc-c536.aspx

" CORSA's patented RSC™ technology reflects sound pressure waves within the muffler case to produce the same 180 degree out-of-phase wave cancellation effect, without flow restriction or electronic devices. It literally took the proverbial "rocket scientist" to come up with the design. An aeronautical engineer, with years of fluid flow, gas dynamics, thermodynamics, and acoustics experience on NASA and numerous other government projects, was employed to adapt some of this space-age noise-suppression technology to automotive mufflers. The result is the CORSA * Reflective Sound-Cancellation™ Technology"

Are you referring to the Corsa Marketing material used globally to explain the Corsa's RSC technology? I have not been able to find a single APR advertisement showing the internals of the muffler of a B8 S4 exhaust. I can only see the APR advertising a full catback exhaust system with RSC technology

It's in there, keep looking. By the way my exhaust has APR's name on it. Doesn't say corsa anywhere. It's APR's problem. You wanna stick your company's name on it and sell it, it's your fucking problem.

A member in a post on here originally asked apr if the inside matches the pictures and they said it was the same.
