So, today I notice that my fans aren't spinning with my HVAC running, so I pop the hood and see that they are kind of inching forward, then stopping, over and over again. I replaced my 300mm fan not even a year ago, so I suspect the fan controller has shit the bed. I hook up VCDS and do a fan output test, and neither fan spins at all...but I hear the fuel pump priming. That's an electrical gremlin I didn't know existed. I did a fan output test about 4 weeks ago and both fans worked, and I definitely didn't hear the fuel pump running then. Damn, this car just wants to bleed me dry, haha. Oh, the 5amp fuse for the fans is good, too. I guess tomorrow I'll check the wiring from the J293 and make sure nothing is chafed/broken, and hook 12VDC to each fan to make sure it will spin. Looks like I have yet another unplanned and expensive repair in my future.

I swear, it's one thing after another with this car. Get the JHM tune, and suddenly I have a weird loss of power but only after letting off the gas and then pressing the pedal down again. Oil leak from the cam tensioner cover, get that fixed, and now this gremlin. As much as I love this car, I think it's time to put a band-aid on it and replace it with something a bit newer and more reliable.
