I just thought I'd share some info on this..
I bought a cheap ELM327 OBD-II wi-fi dongle from Ebay for £10 and connected it to the diagnostics port under my steering wheel column. Simple - 2 second job, plugged straight in our of the packet. It then acts as a wireless access point giving direct access to your ECU.
I downloaded DashCommand which is an app at a cost of £7 from the app store, not sure about Android or Windows but it's excellent! I connected my iPhone 6 to the dongle through the wi-fi settings on my phone and the app automatically connected. There are free apps and others also but the others didn't test so well, Dashcommand was my choice.
You can record your testing and play it back or email the data to yourself, you can change your dashboards and build custom gauges from hundreds of different settings and options.
Here is a screen shot from my iPhone of my dashboard as I'm accelerating from start. You can even do 0-60mph timing tests etc etc and it's pin point accurate.
Dashcommand apparently won second place at SEMA for best mobile performance product...
Just thought I'd share, it's great if you're wanting to test changes you're making. Take a baseline at stock and then again after you make a change..
Not bad for a £20 investment...if anything about of geeky fun!
