    Driver's door switch acting weird

My driver's for switch has been playing up for a while now, it thinks the door is closed at least 90% of the time but does work very rarely. Sometimes when I open it the dome lights flash on and off slowly until I close it again, I also get constant codes for the drivers door triggering the alarm.

The switch itself works just fine, I tested it at the main door harness plug. If I bridge the 2 switch wires at the interior side plug the door warning illuminates like it should. While playing around with the door harness ( I had the rear left door open, this is important ) I noticed that the 2 switch wires always had about 8m ohms between them with the door harness plugged in and the door open warning was showing, unplugging the door harness kept the warning on but no more continuity between the 2 wires. I couldn't get it to go away until I shut the rear door, then it went back to how it was before.

Anyone ever had a similar problem or can lend some advice? I have no clue what's going on with this thing.

EDIT: The dome lights flashing only happens with the key turned to on, as soon as I turn it to off the dome lights illuminate and turn off when I close the door. But turning the headlights on while the key is in off doesn't sound the buzzer, I may have disabled it when I recoded the cluster though.

Messed with the central locking pump a bit, the remote worked after I plugged it back in but then stopped responding after I opened and closed a door. Now I can't sync either of my remotes, program them to a new memory slot, nor can I clear the remote memory (through vagcom adaptation channel 0 or through the remote). When I go through the adaptation menu it seems to work initially but checking measuring block 3 shows that both remotes are still paired. The rear door triggering the driver's door open warning came back again too, and once again the driver's door warning only turned off after I closed the rear left door. Also noticed that the driver's door lamp doesn't ever turn on, the bulb is good.

So now I'm stuck with no keyless entry and a non-working door switch... Great.

Bump. Keyless entry started working out of the blue, has been fine ever since. Door switch worked maybe 3-4 times in the past few weeks.

Does anyone have experience with the central locking electrics and harness? It appears to be a problem with the door harness, but I can't see where it could possibly go wrong since the harness is so simple. I noticed that my wring diagram shows that the door switch should have 1 ground and 1 positive wire going to it, but mine has 2 ground. Connecting either of them to the positive pin on the plug does nothing, neither does connecting together all 3 pins. Maybe I should just grab a junkyard door harness at this point.
