    Front Sway Bar?

I'm going to try and install the H&R front sway bar meant for the B8 S4/S5. Shop I go to says it'll fit and my parts supplier said it will as well, but wanted to see if anybody else has done this before. It's obviously not made for this car, so I know it might not be a perfect fit. Any advise?

I cannot comment on fitment but I am curious as to why you are looking to add a front after having the rear already installed. I remember years ago a thread where there was a big debate as to whether an upgraded front sway bar was even needed as adding an upgraded rear seemed to resolve most of the understeer/body roll issues.

Do you feel the front end is too loose in comparison to your rear with the 034 sway bar?

Mostly I'm bored, curious, and am constantly trying to keep up with my friends with S4/5s. And my parts supplier told me he'd take it back if it didn't fit. At this point I'm more into making this thing go as fast as possible around curves than in a straight line.

Got it. Let us know how it goes. In my experience, the Q shares certain suspension components with the A4/A5 (S4/S5) models but other components are shared with the A6/A7/A8 models. At least that's how it appeared to me after purchasing a bunch of Powerflex bushings.

My only concern with a front is that the car already has a tendency to understeer and stiffening the front like that only really makes it worse, that was 034s rationale if I remember correctly for why they never made a front bar.

Can't hurt to try it out though.

I installed the Eurocode front and rear bars on my SQ at the same time.

I owned a B8 S4 few years ago and installed the rear then the front bar a few weeks later to find what differences each bar made. With only the rear bar installed, turn in did improve and the rear wanted to break loose very easily however the front end still lacked precision and rolled a lot on hard initial turn ins. Once the front bar was installed, this helped level the car much more on the initial turn in, car felt incredibly planted though.

With both bars installed on the SQ I feel the ride has gotten a bit better as bumps are more evenly absorbed and the body roll has somewhat been reduced (the pano roof is just insanely heavy). There is a reduced amount of understeer compared to stock, however more than just with just a rear bar.

Ha! I did not mean to turn this thread into a repeat of the other one. This seems to remain a topic of debate. Very interested in hearing the OP's thoughts after the install.

There are actually a few different ones. Here is a relatively recent one I was referring to:
