Hello audi headache enthusiasts :) I'd love if someone with some experience would be able to guide me in the right direction.

Now i don't know if all of these are related to the issue at hand but here's what happen over past few days. One morning the car had a complexly drained battery, after about a ten mile drive check engine light went on. Than after parking and restarting the car i couldn't get the shiftier to shift out of the Park. Here are some symptoms:
    1. The indicator by the P, for the foot on the break, doesn't come on, ever.
    2. the check engine light stayed on, until i got it cleared with the vag com.
    3. after taking the fuse #31 out i'm able to shift and drive on R/D/S all the time. Also in TIP, but from time to time on the dash all of the lever positions would get highlighted and than i loose the ability to go into TIP. (until i restart the car)
    4. the oil sensor message has popped up.
    5. the break lights are working fine.
    6. the solenoid gets engaged/disengaged depending on car key position.
7.ESP was on for a little while than went away.

Hi Guy. Do you know what drained the battery? Have you checked for water in your ECM compartment? It would cause problems and turn your radiator fans on until the battery drains. Ask me how I know:(

Much of the codes tie back to the battery. Check the battery to make sure it holds a charge. Also have the alternator and ignition switch tested. Clear out all codes and then let it sit overnight. Check voltage in the morning to see if levels have dropped (would indicate a short and draining power). Then check for codes again.

My alternator went bad (seized up) causing the battery to go flat. When it was low enough, I saw most of the dashboard lights light up one at a time and then go completely dark until power loss stopped the engine.

Do a sanity check as well. Check fluid levels (oil, coolant, brake, power steering). If all of those look fine, then check the ECU box for any water getting in as suggested above.

    18170 - Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)
    P1762 - 003 - Short to Plus

When this fault occurs, the shift lock solenoid is ON and you can't shift out of Park. Need to find out where the short to +Bat is located and fix that. Otherwise, clear all the codes and see if any/which ones reoccur. Post back any reoccurring codes, then we can go forward.

Examine that positive terminal wire for damage or breaks. It would explain the battery drain. Just be sure to disconnect the battery first

So what happened is some whater got into the ecu box. After replacing the relays no more issues all though haven't connected the locking solenoid back to see if it's functioning properly.
