    (rough draft) A4 B7 2.0T engine swap/pull/replacement/install

Below are links to a "DIY" I started on doing an engine swap/pull/replacement on my B7. I realize it's not in the proper format or even edited properly.

I made it primarily as a reference for myself with the intent of creating a DIY later. I never made it to a final draft, but still entertain notions of doing so. (But I figure this is better than nothing if I don't get around to it.)

If anyone is so motivated feel free to edit, add content, or reuse all/a portion of this in your own DIY. I just ask that you post and updates in this thread (even if it's just a link to a new thread) so I can follow it.--Audizine is my home forum, but I'm not on it all that often.

I know this is an old post but I must say it is pretty helpful to not forget any of the connectors. Thank you.

One question is what are the best mounting points for the crane. I see where you attached the crane but are those hook areas on all cars? I have never looked.

Also, I posted a bunch handful of pictures of the engine with it pulled. I didn't review them closely, but I think some of them may have had the wiring harness still connected. Good for checking if you can't figure out exactly where something fits on/is located.

Perhaps I have a neck for it, but the pictures above and the ones in my rough draft in this thread, I didn't have a problem getting everything connected back. If you just kinda put the wires back where they wanted to go, everything lines up. Then just zip tie as appropriate.

A far as the mount points. The one on the front of the engine was actually a mounting loop for a hook. The one on the back, if I remember right, was the bracket that the plastic engine cover snapped on to. It was much beefier than would be required for to hold the engine cover, so my guess was it was intended to be used as a lift point even though it didn't have a spot for a hook. (I thing I put a bolt through a hole in the bracket.)
